  1. I can't tell if you were directing that at me or not; I had two professors and a contact in the host country write my recommendations--employer does not know I am applying Employer does know, however, that I am leaving (on their side, presumably for law school) since I had to make a decision on the promotion offer and since I needed a recommendation from them for law school
  2. Now you're really going to think I'm crazy, but I don't actually want to practice law. I'm already working in a different industry and turned down a promotion offer for more than the first year biglaw comp to apply to law school heh... I actually got into my first choice already and goal is to do JD/MBA, but it won't be a walk in the park to get into the b-school as well... I really want to do the Fulbright though because I'm very interested in my proposal topic (similar methodology to my senior thesis from undergrad), and I think it'd be a great experience Sorry for the awkward grammar--I'm writing from my phone
  3. Only applied two places, so wasn't exactly a herculean effort heh
  4. By the way, anyone else here simultaneously going through the law school admissions process?
  5. I meant alternate for Scholar program that otherwise would've had final notifications in December
  6. https://m.facebook.com/KeithJohnstoneACriticalBiography/posts/812544508761358 Saw this by stalking twitter but am at work so can't do broader research on this person--is this a different type of Fulbright than the one for which most of us have applied?
  7. I'm going to launch into pure, unnecessary speculation, but there's also a possibility (though probably low probability) that the protocol has been changed such that the FPAs are no longer notified in advance. Much more likely that we'll just be notified next week, but always room for wild speculation
  8. By the way, I probably won't forget your comment from last year for at least 40 years (I believe it was around this time last year but can't remember if it was later in the process): 'JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL' I pretty much died lol
  9. I'm thinking that someone would've already had some type of notification if the emails were actually coming today...
  10. Haven't we already established there aren't going to be decisions today? Why is everyone here still making me stress out about this afternoon??
  11. People have called in past years and the people in the office have let them know roughly "you should be hearing this week" So, if someone were to call, we could potentially all stop stressing about whether it's going to be this week or next--seems like reason enough to me
  12. Eh, not to keep harping on this, but someone calling the office could really give us insight, since they'd likely tell whether or not the decisions are coming this week based on what it appears they have disclosed in the past Just a thought...
  13. Per one of my previous posts, someone with more guts than I have should call the office and ask for the timing hah It seems in past years they have acknowledged when it was the week of
  14. Anyone else getting a little wary that Friday might not be the day, given the radio silence from our FPAs? Seems as though there would be more rumors and chatter if we were going to find out this week...
  15. Someone should call the office--looks as though they were decently open in the past when it was the week of notification o.O
  16. Does anyone know how undergraduate applicants are thought of with respect to the full grants? (rumors from advisers, etc.) I applied for a full grant for a country with average competitiveness and have strong letters of affiliation and prior research experience. Obviously there's not much I can do about it now, but curious if anyone has info on this...
