Hi.
I've applied for an MS with possible fields of interest either in Transportation or Structures.
Good luck to everybody

I'm pretty sure that 95% figure comes from the NRC graduate school ranking data, so it would apply to PhD students. The MIT website actually seems to have pretty specific information about funding for your field: http://cee.mit.edu/graduate/mst/admissions
I have actually applied for an MS in Civil Engineering with a possible specialization in Transport. It is actually different than the MST program.

I have applied for a Master in Structural Engineering to:
MIT
UCB
UIUC
Catech
Stanford.
I have no news, and my top choice is Berkeley.
Thank you clavodeolor!
My chosen program is Transportation Engineering

I have applied for a Masters to:
MIT
UC Berkeley (Accepted with full funding & stipend)
Cornell
Tufts (Accepted with full funding)
Columbia
MIT is my top choice. Berkeley's offer gave me hope that I might have a chance for MIT

Thanks bro, good luck to you too! I read somewhere that 95% of the students in research based degrees in the civil engineering department at MIT are in some way funded, either by RA/TA or fellowships. Do you know if that's accurate?
Unfortunately if I dont receive any funding i wont be able to go to MIT.

Anybody else waiting for a reply from MIT for a Masters or PhD in Civil Engineering?
I am personally have applied for a Masters in Civil Engineering with specialization in Transportation.
I have already seen 1 person being accepted in the Results Section. Do you think more replies are around the corner?
Cheers

the "honors thing" is the equivalent to GPA and 70% + is equivalent to a 4.0 GPA.
Dont they care how well you do in your undergraduate degree?
IMO, a 170Q is pretty much an easy-in for MIT.. what they won't care about is the 70% honors thing.

It is not optional for SM Civil Engineering which I am applying to.
Nevertheless I retook the exam today and got
Quant. 170 / 170
Verbal 156/170
which im pretty happy about

Hi guys,
One of those posts again
So I am now in my 3rd and final year of a Bachelor in Engineering at University College London doing Civil Engineering. I am applying to MIT for a Masters in Science Civil Engineering. I have held a first class honours (70% + ) for my first two years and most probably will achieve the same for my 3rd year which I believe corresponds to a GPA of 4.0
My GRE scores are:
Verbal: 159/170
Quantitative: 163/170
Analytical Writing: 4.5/6
What do you think?
Should I retake for MIT?
Thanks a million,
Nikos
