I am tragically waitlisted for funding. So what IS the funding like? I'm so curious! Do you know how many people were admitted this year?
-
^ Who is your POI?
-
Has anyone NOT heard from ucla?
-
^ Yes, $600!
-
Does anyone know if people typically get off of funding waitlists? And if so, is there a chance for full funding? Or is there no way to generalize because this is all specific to the institution?
I was told I was ranked highly and that the probability was pretty high, so there might be hope right?
Is this for upenn?

Is there anyone who has NOT heard from ucla yet?

^Have you heard back from Columbia?

NW decisions are up

I know this was asked about 10 pages back, but I can't find it.
Who else is in UCLA limbo with me? I'm hesitant to call or email if anyone else has recently...
Any updates? If not, I may call Wendy Fujinama.
Do it.
What is your subfield btw? I think it may have something to do with that.

Who wants to call NW? B-)
-
I emailed Wendy Griswold from NU yesterday - looks like the next couple of days.

Can someone call Emily Hannum and find out what the deal is?

Who was the Penn admit??
-
Not yet. The e-mail I received from Alice Justice guaranteed funding, and mentioned a few figures about potential funding. I have not received any concrete information about funding. I e-mailed her this afternoon to ask when I might expect detailed information.
Let us know what you find out. Were you nominated for a fellowship or anything?? was anyone??

Who wants to call the graduate chair at Columbia and ask what the deal is on admissions?
-
So I called the admin assistant at Columbia, and apparently it's an "ongoing process." Odd.
-
Who was the Columbia reject? How did they notify
-
That michigan acceptance though...

^ I spoke with Shamus Khan (the chair), and he said admissions HAD been finalized? :S
Reapply with the same statement?

I was accepted to a top ranking sociology program last year. I initially accepted my admission offer - however, due to family reasons, I had to withdraw my acceptance. Does anyone have any insight as to whether it would be okay to reapply to the school with the same statement I wrote last year (with modifications regarding how I spent this year, et cetera)? Or do I need to draft a new statement? Thanks!
