  1. For those still wondering about UW Immunology, I got an interview offer last night. It's my understanding that most invitations had gone out by that point, so I suspect I was a bubble guy. Good luck to everyone!
  2. I still haven't heard anything, but we weren't going to hear anything between 5 PM PST Friday and 9 AM PST tomorrow, since today was observed as New Year's Day. I reckon either no one on TGC got an invitation this year or we'll hear something this week.
  3. I disagree entirely. Do some research on your own to see what flight costs would be. If they are comparable then be honest and say you're excited to see the area and was hoping to visit DC while there, so would they mind booking your return flight from blank. As long as there isn't a huge price difference they won't mind and will probably think it's cool that you want to experience the country. This is school you are applying to, after all.
  4. I am really confused by University of Washington Immunology. In previous years they sent out interview invitations up to a week before Christmas, and this year still no one has posted that they received one - just one rejection as of yesterday. Furthermore, the program coordinator emailed me several days ago and told me the committee was still making decisions. So I don't know whether this year, for the first time, no one on The Grad Cafe received an interview invitation or for the first time, they are sending invitations out late.
  5. Unfortunately I can't answer your question, but would you happen to have heard anything from University of Washington Immunology?
  6. Yeah. Do you think it's just that no one here got an invitation this year or that they are later sending them out? I don't want to reach out to the program because I've been in their ear for a long time now already, haha.
  7. Does anything know anything about University of Washington Immunology?
  8. I got an invitation to UW-Seattle Pathobiology! Surprised to see that no one has gotten a UW Immunology invitation since in years past these have started going out by now...
  9. Or it does, because you didn't get the message at the same time.
  10. Rejected from UW Immunology, so I'm finished with this thread. Congratulations to a lot of y'all and good luck to the rest.
  11. I see absolutely no harm in asking them for confirmation of receipt of your reply. This is a very big deal and they will understand that you don't want to slip through the cracks, so just be polite and don't sweat it.
  12. I actually did end up emailing them since she told me directly that everyone would be informed of their status by the end of December (I of course was polite and tread lightly). But I'll let you know what I learn when I hear back. This is one of only two departments I applied to this year so I just really want to know if I've been rejected already.
  13. Quick question - what does your application status say on the application website now that you have an interview?
