Are we talking about SAIS, when did you hear?
-
No kindle version? There are places with no access to mail, you should check that, I lived in rural nepal during the civil war and dhs still got there!
-
Yep, Ive heard of it because I studied in NY, but if you are outside the country NO ONE knows it!
-
Thank you, if I might say so the little interaction I had with the admissions staff was very friendly and timely! Never took longer than two hours to answer! So this year atbleast you were top notch!
-
Go for Penn especially if you are international, nsadly ranking andnotoriety matters, no one has heard of U Conn and thebother one is an ivy, and you can't really tell if you will not find a faculty that sharesyour views, youbjust don't know them. Fear of the unknown is normal but you have to be brave!
-
Also UT has an average you need to show before they issue your visa documents...it's about 15 k a yr
-
Might be going next year MPP at LBJ school! @VelazquezMora Im international and got some awesome fellowship, but they also have finaid for internationals, if you are Latin American check out the good neighbour scholarship!
-
I have a similar dilemma, Harris offered me no aid, and Austin even gave me a stipend, I am leaning towards Austin due to location, weather and money! Just my two thoughts!
-
On the offside it is cool they host open houses outside the US
-
Ok someone should teach the admissions office about confidentiality! Seriously they just sent me a mail inviting me to an event in my country and cced everyone else who was admitted.....of course this way I learnt that 2 other work colleagues got in (yeah!) but seriously, it is not cool they do this!

I lived in India in highschool and remember my roomate learnt she was in, at 2 am while on a train (she gave her passwords to her mom and she called her as there where no smartphones back then)
-
So today I got an email to check status (got in) while at a pub, smartphones are terrible to check a status and thank god the letter has a big congratulations or I wouldn't have been ableto distinguish it. Anyways just thought it would be fun....
1st acceptance....email, got back from lunch at work, internet was down due to maintenance, read it in phone....
2nd acceptance...email, was at work, phone beeped, logged in through computer,
3rd acceptance....European school, woke up to email
4th acceptance....got home on Friday night and saw on grad cafe resultsvwere in web page...
1st rejection...email, was in a cab
5th acceptance...story up there....
Share yours!

t-3 hahaha

Yep oh and also be more specific about that school, ok yes we all know Cornell is cool, but what makes it such a perfect school for YOU, you can talk about how the program is this way or a specific class, or a faculty member but something!
-
No, if I might be blunt, it is way to cliché, each experience needs to be a lot more linked to what you want to study, ok so you have seen poverty in many countries and horrible stuff how did that particular experience make you say I want to do this. Or simply say my travels around the world have taught me a and b. Because right now the SOp is more about random peopl than about you."The best things in life never come easy" is a cliché, you want to start with something that captures their attention. Also, it is waaaay to informal "I suppose getting into" no, make stronger and more formal . Also it jumps from oen thing to another too quickly, you go from some poor woman you met, to growing up without a transition. PM me if you want something longer. It has some stuff about you.

Congrats to all the Wagner people! Didn´t apply there but NYU is very cool! Looking_to_sea how much did you get in the fellowship? is it the same Johnson one we all got? PS. Might see you there next yr!
-
Only program I got rejected from, but I guess we weren´t a great fit I am more of a hands on kind of person and LSE sounds waaay too theory based. Congrats!
-
I am sure it is, but I want to see it and see the classes before committing myself to it, especially because I got such an amazing funding but also got accepted into other programs in cities I know and like a lot (DC).
