  1. I compared observations with fellow recruits from each weekend which really helped my decision. Also took a weekend off and finally came to a decision: Johns Hopkins University, BCMB My interactions with everyone thereafter have definitely confirmed for me that I made the right choice. I hope everyone is making progress in their decisions -- I'm always willing to have a conversation if you need a different sounding board/perspective.
  2. I'm having a really similar problem myself. Would love to chat with you sometime if you don't mind!
  3. Thanks guys!!! Congrats on all your acceptances as well
  4. Accepted to Northwestern IBiS! Woo! Choices!
  5. Hey gunjrita, unfortunately there is no set rule. It varies between all programs.
  6. That was exhausting. JHU BCMB called the day after my recruitment weekend with the acceptance notice! What an amazing cohort. NU IBiS is a very interesting program, had a good time there too. Best of luck to everyone! Productive trip overall Edit: I was told that decisions for IBiS would be made this Friday and announced throughout next week.
  7. I'm sorry to hear that, chemaholic. Chin up! The season isn't over yet!
  8. So, what are people's opinions on contacting recruitment coordinators with questions regarding acceptance rate, interview format, etc.? I'm going to assume that I have only two interviews and I'd really like to prepare as fully and properly as possible. (I really appreciate the insights provided by all of you already!) chemaholic: Thanks! You too -- January has yet to end
  9. Just finished a correspondence with UNC-Chapel Hill BBSP. They have sent out all invites. Official rejections will still take some time to be sent out.
  10. This guy is right.
  11. It's getting pretty late into the month... maybe now would be a good time to send inquiries to programs I have not heard back from?
  12. Was it an e-mail or by phone?
  13. ragumar13: Sorry to hear that, were you just notified?
  14. So tempted to just contact the remaining programs and see.
  15. I was also surprised to see that. NU IBiS has two interview weekends, one of which is at the very end of February. I was told that slots were filling up very quickly though when deciding between the two dates and am surprised they're still sending out invites. Do you know much else about IPiB btw? There are very, very few submissions on the results page and it's already a month past the deadline.
  16. An IPiB! Was that anyone here?
  17. Khearts: Biochemistry or BPSD?
  18. It may have. But I'd like to think today was some epic "everyone's apps were addressed" day. lol
  19. My MyWisc date entries have all been updated to January 15, 2013. I haven't noticed the date change since the application deadline. Another person in this thread has noticed the same.
  20. @chemaholic - Thanks for that update. I know they've sent rejections for some international applicants already. Everyone's application dates were updated today so I bet by this Friday will be the wave of notifications. (Or hopefully tonight :X) They didn't give any specific dates huh?
  21. @cleverfool: Congratulations! I just logged into the MyWisc website to check IPiB and saw that my application has been updated somehow today. No notifications but I'd like to know either way. Will you chose UWisc Chem or IPiB if you had the choice?
  22. If it's like the MCB and TETRAD programs, they won't be updated until after acceptances/rejections have been sent out.
  23. Thanks for the heads up dlouble. Anyone else think that this Friday might be a big one? Pre-MLK Jr. wave to allow for adcomm relaxation? Just trying to rationalize the crazy levels of anticipation and super quiet weekends
  24. Yeah this doesn't follow the trends from last year.
  25. Anymore news from IPiB for anyone browsing this thread?
