Has anyone heard back from the UCSF Neuroscience program with regards to travel information for their interview session?

Stanford traditionally doesn't get back to you till early-mid January.

The sender of my invitation did not make any comment with regards to his specific track. Ah, my apologies- I'm afraid I misinterpreted your original post. You make a great point about Harvard's undergraduate weekends.

Thanks! One possible factor that might throw a wrench in that theory... In my interview request email, MIT did not explicitly ask me to verify my acceptance of the interview offer- they simply told me that I was invited and would send me more information in the future. AK1921, I believe you said that you have not received more information from MIT beyond that initial request and interview date email? Did you ever verify your interview appointment with them? In addition, MIT's neuroscience program size isn't that much smaller than other programs. I know Harvard has a similar size and their interview date spans 3-4 days.

Hmm, no the interview request did not mention anything with regards to the schedule. I was told that I should be getting more information about it later in the future.

Update: received an invitation from MIT BCS over the weekend. Has anyone else heard back from them yet? I'm not sure if they're done sending out invitations.

Nope, not yet.

After doing some research, their 2007 student body consisted of ~15 students coming in. This would suggest that they would accept at least 20 students imo. If MIT is an accurate consideration, their website claims that they accept twice as many students as there are space each year. "We receive over 400 applications per year, and of these, we admit approximately 40 students and enroll between 10 and 20 students." http://bcs.mit.edu/academics/grad_howtoapplyfaqs.html If MIT over-accepts that much, than I can imagine that Harvard might hedge their bets a little as well.

Received word today that Harvard invited ~40 applicants to interview for their program. Any ideas on how big the entering student body usually is?

My understanding is that most interview requests should be sent out by the middle of January. By then, you should have a fairly good idea of what programs are interested in you.
