  1. Stanford should be sending out the offers this week. I won't be able to sleep
  2. Sure! Why not I was actually quite disappointed to find out that everyone's so silent in the facebook page. I see two Koreans in the group but have no idea who you are... How about you sending me a friend request ?
  3. I also wanted to ask that! Yes, I'm there and it will be quite easy to find me because there will be only few (or only me?) Korean living outside the US. But It's unfair. I have no clue about others
  4. Thanks! Congrats to you too! I am sorry to hear that, What a bad timing.. But you could stil get a chance to talk to him if he hasn't moved to UCSF yet? We might think about bringing gradcafe name tags to the interview. We'll never recognize each other anyway
  5. Those two schools have not sent out the decisions yet, I expect to hear from Stanford in next week, but no idea about UCLA.
  6. Me too. Actually,we might meet several times during the interview! I also got offers from Harvard, JHU, and MIT. See you there
  7. This is what I've heard so far. Hope this helps. Once we finalize the lists of people coming each weekend we will send out information about travel planning. We expect that the email with this information will be sent out between January 3rd and the 7th. Which interview weekend are you visiting?
  8. Amazing how so many neuro applicants get together here! I guess I will be meeting some of you several times in the interview. Exciting
  9. You are totally right on that
  10. I also got an invitation from Yale. It was by phone from a professor, who actually told me all the official information about the interview. I asked him whether I will get an offcial invitation by email but he was not sure about it. So maybe this is how Yale invites people. He told me admissions committee had a meeting today and selected about 20 students to invite for the interview. As far as he knows, there are only 3 international students who will be flying from outside of US. The interview dates are Feb 22-23.
  11. @Crowson, According to my friend, who actaully called all the schools she applied and asked about the send-out dates for the interview, Stanford Bioscience will start sending out the interview offers during the second week of January. I am not that brave to call the office, but good to have a friend who always shares a useful news with you. Only several days left for another round of decisions
  12. @DingBo, Thanks for the message. I agree with your idea and based on what I heard from the posts here, this seems to be especially true for MIT. They seem to send out the interview offers over several months, but those offers are sent in several groups, not one by one. I guess MIT is sending out the offers according to the tracks you applied to as a first choice. But still I don't see the point in grouping them into tracks because MIT has only one interview date after all.
  13. @tifoz, thanks for your message Actually I shouldn't be asking that question because I haven't posted any of my decisions yet. (which is kind of embarrassing...my bad) Guess this is what most MIT people are doing.
  14. My research interests are more likely in the systems or behavioral neuroscience and my first choice in the applications were within these tracks. ( is this what you asked for??did I get you right?) So far I got interview offers from Columbia, Berkeley, and MIT. But a Question to you. Does this kind of choice really matter? I mean, is your specialization one of the critical factors that schools look upon during the process? Thought these things were some extra info.
  15. Just curious... Do you guys have any idea why there are only few interview or accepted posts for MIT? considering the size of the program is comparable to other schools like Harvard
  16. @nibblingsushi, I think we got the same message. Mine also didn't have anything other than telling me that I will receive a follow-up email soon. Then can it be that they are sending the invitation by the track you chose? Actually the professor who sent me the email mentioned that he is a head of admissions committee in systems track. What was yours?
  17. What a scientific guess! I thought so too. But if this would be the case, it's just amazing that there is someone who will decline the interview offer from MIT!
  18. Me too. Some schools are being too cruel to us
  19. Thanks That's also what I heard. But still cannot believe they are having interview for only one day.
  20. That's much of a relief! I also got the invitation from MIT on Dec. 21 but wasn't sure whether it was a real one since I couldn't find any post here. My interview date is also Mar. 8. Did your invitation mention anything specific about the interview schedule?? And my friend just told me that she actually called MIT on Dec. 19 to ask about her status and heard they already had their interview list done. Like ryancho said, it seems MIT is sending the invitation one by one over long period.
  21. Wow! Congrats When is the interview weekend?
  22. @HS2013, thanks for the message. I'm sure this will be the most difficult choice I've ever made, having no idea what the consequences would be
  23. Thanks! Since this was an unofficial email, I'm sure there will be much more invites during the official one.
  24. Congrats! Seems you've got a lot of interviews so far. Do you plan to attend all?? I am worried that traveling around for a full month will be quite exhausting and won't do any good for the interviews.. Anyone has any idea on this? Just beginning to worry about the interviews.. It's frustrating
  25. March 8, It was an unofficial message from the admissions comittee and I have no idea whether it will be a one-day interview. I will update more after I receive an official invitation
