  1. Does anyone have a link to information regarding IRB / Human Subjects Protocol research for Fulbright Scholars doing fieldwork?
  2. microeconomics of women's collectives. mathematics of population growth ie birthing of children. history and culture of healthcare ie foucault.
  3. women and children. healthcare.
  4. A friend of mine pushed her Morocco Fulbright back to January, but it was for a job. So it's possible, but I think they're reviewed on a case by case basis.
  5. You can find lots of information on the orientation here: http://fulbright.state.gov/orientation/af-nea-sca I would register now. The commission should send you an email soon telling you to register anyhow and how to buy your plane ticket. Congrats! See you in DC.
  6. ????? ????!! Jordan CLEA recipients received email notification (I got the email before the manila envelope...). Maybe Egypt does this the same way. See you in DC!
  7. Did anyone receive information about traveling to the briefing in DC, about how much money you will receive, about insurance, and about everything else BEFORE you turned in your medical clearance form? I am going to the doctor on Thursday and am hoping I will be receiving more information on my grant before they receive my medical clearance. I am wondering when I can start making travel arrangements. Thanks in advance.
  8. I received an email from my CLEA administrator (representing Jordan) a few days before I received my acceptance letter in the snail mail. The email indicated I had been selected as a Principal for the CLEA grant (my scholarship adviser here at school told me not all Fulbrighters headed to CLEA-sponsored countries are offered these additional language study grants). She asked us to fill out a timeline and budget for studies based on tuition prices she provided to us in her email. The budget form seemed to be a mere formality. Basically, CLEA needs to know how many months you would like to study (with four or six months being Jordan's only options). I will be doing six months at the Qasid institute, inshallah. What language will you be studying and where? Congrats!
  9. Principal candidate. Jordan, here I come! alhumdullilah mashallah mashallah. (West coast here.)
  10. Today I got an email saying Jermaine Jones would send out Jordan letters this week.
  11. FYI - Jordan letters will go out this Thursday.
  12. I don't think so. My friend heard back from Morocco over a month ago.
  13. Today I got word from my Fulbright adviser that Jordan applications have made it to New York. This, however, does not necessarily mean we will know within any given amount of time. Could still take weeks. She mentioned that applications to the Middle East generally take longer to be approved by the State Department than those for other countries. Background checks, etc., to make sure we're not an enemy of the state
  14. Just found the latest stats for 2008-2009: http://chronicle.com/weekly/v55/i09/09a02301.htm#top
  15. Wow this is great info. It lead me to this page: http://us.fulbrightonline.org/news_story.php?id=74 which links to stats for other types of "Carnegie Classifications" (this type of classification is news to me). I fall under the category of an applicant from a "research institution" : http://us.fulbrightonline.org/documents/research.pdf Thanks so much!!
