I second this. Officially I did math+econ undergrad (but took a lot of poli sci classes) and wrote my thesis on a poli sci related topic, which I sent in as my writing sample with my applications.

Turned down NYU and MIT this week, both funded 5 years (American).

I don't recall that exact post or who made that claim, but I was accepted to NYU as well as "higher ranked" programs (Harvard, Yale, Princeton). I applied to NYU because it was a good research interest fit.

I've had some schools offer 5 years of summer stipends, some that don't explicitly break out a summer stipend but quoted their stipend in 12-month periods, and some that just offered 2 years of summer stipends or none at all. They ranged around $2000-5000 per summer, depending on the school.

In at Yale too! Hadn't heard anything from them up until now. Still waiting to get complete funding info from all my schools, then can start to narrow down...

Yeah I can claim a Harvard PEG, but haven't heard officially from the Government department yet. Condolences to those part of the red today...was part of the bloodshed yesterday.

The thing is, I was worried about not having contacted professors and had stressed out about it after reading that some applicants did so...relieved that it didn't affect my chances. I don't have perfect stats... if there's a thread for profiles/results after all the decisions wrap up, I'll share my general profile.

Ahhh!!! Just got an email from a prof - in at Harvard's Political Economy PhD! So unbelievably excited.

I know it's an extreme long shot in terms of getting in, but any clue on when Stanford GSB's PhD decisions are coming out? (Did anyone else here apply to the GSB program?)

I believe you have to go through the link "Review your activity" or the system will think you're trying to submit another application.

FYI, I also got an official email from Berkeley telling me to check my statue online, and found the official letter of acceptance there.
