  1. to offer some hope, I declined my award to accept an NSF, best of luck to the rest of you and I am sorry that you are being kept waiting.
  2. Also if you are international student depending on where you are from and what language you studied in you might need to take the TOEFL test. Perhaps not applicable since you are applying for english lit, but it is quite expensive.
  3. hey I got a call today making sure that I got the award offer because they said it got caught in some people's spam folders, so maybe it is worth checking your spam folder
  4. my deadline was set as april 29th. I would guess, it is two weeks from when you hear, as I heard on April 15th.
  5. hey guys, thanks and unfortunately it doesn't say. I also applied for something extremely fundamental with regards to military applications so it's hard to predict which office would have funded it. Probably not the HPCMO, all of the others I would say are possibilities.
  6. I had received a still being considered email and then was emailed again today and received the award. Best of luck to the rest of the applicants! I am in chemistry and an incoming student if that is of interest to people

  9. I got into CalTech a few weeks ago and just heard today with regards to financial information. They said there would be an official letter as well coming in a week or two, but they wanted to get me this information "as soon as possible" so I wouldn't worry too much.

  11. reader but new to posting. just thought I would share information for those who are waiting... was accepted to mit yesterday (visit weekends: March 22-24) and uc berkeley today (4 visit weekends, March 1=Organic, March 8=inorganic, March 15=chemical biology, March 22=mixed interests) still waiting to hear from caltech and harvard school: hyps group gpa: 3.94 (cumulative)/3.98 (major:chemistry) gre: 98% Q/ 99% V/ 6.0 AW/ 97% Chemistry research: 2 summers funded research at home institution, 1 summer REU type research experience awards: one major national science award, other awards from home institution publications: 1 co-first author, 1 lower author, 1 manuscript in prep LOR's:have been told they are very strong, one from PI, one from summer REU, one from academic advisor presentations: no formal ones myself, but my name has been on talks by my professor at ACS/Gordon Conferences/etc.
