  1. Yes, that would concern me. phaedra, what about the graduates' employment and Praxis pass rates? Are they also on the low side? Sounds like something is amiss in that program.
  2. Excellent advice! May I just say that you're one of the most helpful and sensible posters on Grad Cafe. You give useful advice and are never condescending in your approach.
  3. Jaime~ Sounds like you have a plan and also a great attitude. Best of luck to you!
  4. Me too! I met with one of the professors in their program and was told they received almost 400 applications last year. They accept between 20 to 25 students per year, so approximately a 5% to 6% acceptance rate. I'd say their program is competitive because it's small and they get so many applicants. Even Nova, previously known for accepting students with lower GPAs, now has a 3.0 minimum. The competition to get into a program is insane. FAU's GRE minimum scores used to be higher; I think it was 153 for verbal and 149 for Q and 4 for AW. Now their website states that applicants with scores lower than 145 in V and Q aren't likely to be accepted. Also, they no longer consider the AW score in their decision. I don't know what prompted these changes. Anyway, looking at last year's results, applicants began to receive notification around this time and continued on through March. We have to be hearing something soon. Good luck to you!
  5. This is me. My thoughts fluctuate between, 'yeah, I'll get accepted to who are you kidding?' I can feel my anxiety kicking in now, so I've been tackling house projects to keep my mind off things. I find myself spending more time reading these forums; not sure what I'm looking for, but it's compulsive. I won't hear any news for at least another two weeks. My husband jokes that the phrase March Madness will carry new meaning for our family. lol No nightmares yet, but it's still early. TBH, I truly underestimated how stressful this process was going to be.
  6. Search for Frank Netter images. I've found them to be the best and most detailed anatomy illustrations.
  7. The pre-reqs. don't apply if you're a non-degree seeking student. You can get a waiver to get in that class. Once you're admitted to the school as non-degree seeking, get in touch with Nick in the COMD dept. to get approval to take the class. USU's staff is very helpful and friendly and really have it together.
