Hey all,
Long-time thread lurker here, and wanted to provide data for people looking at cutoffs and things. My score was 15.4 and I was awarded a Bombardier CGS. I don't know which committee by number, but my project is research-creation-based.

I got my official letter yesterday. For Concordia students, any idea how that topoff award of 6000 works? I thought that recipients just got it but then on the site it says for people activating a SSHRC at the official start date of their program of study...

Like I said, my school let the cat out of the bag: they sent me info on how to activate the the award.

Is it Mid-May yet? I have a friend that found out on May 13th last year. It would be really nice to know since if I don't get the SSHRC I'll be able to look for non-RA contract jobs that are more than 10 hours a week...something I've sort of been delaying because I don't want to be that jerk that accepts a job offer then declines later on.

It seems like the results get later and later every year...why do they pretend that we can start the award May 1st?

Concordia has started sending out emails for the Masters' level competition! I found out this morning that my application has been forwarded to the national competition.
About my stats:
GPA: 3.9
RAships: One, but as managing editor of a magazine that has affiliations with the school.
Scholarships/Awards: Entrance Scholarship (Shuffle), Gustav Levenschi Scholarship, some other awards.
Letters: From two profs that knew me very well.

Does anyone know when the A and B lists are put out for Masters' SSHRC candidates? I'm starting to get curious.

@Misswan :
My background is in creative writing, but my current work is in game design and game studies. I have a loooot of conference papers under my belt, 1 forthcoming book chapter (my only refereed publication, really), a lot of games, and I have non-academic publications (I was the managing editor of a lit magazine and I guest-edited two issues, including one on games).
