  1. I don't know if it is different for each country but I did not have long at all to decide. By the time the snail mail reached my house from Indonesia I only had a few days...
  2. I'm in the same boat. Except my parents are moving out of the country for two years! So I'm leaving my baby with good friends who have kittens so he'll have play friends. The day I leave I'm probably going to cry though to be honest...
  3. It might not be a bad idea to have it done. I just did and honestly it didn't hurt.
  4. Obviously I meant everyone who has heard and those waiting to hear. Stupid phone auto correct. Hugs and Aloha anyways!
  5. Hey y'all! So I'm just sitting here filling out forms for my Fulbright and I still can't believe it is real. I just wanted to send a CONGRATS to everyone who has head so far and a big HUG to those who are still waiting to here. It has been a while since Indonesia sent out letters and it still doesn't feel real. I just wanted to say I still check in and am sending my love and congrats. Aloha!
  6. Nice reference! Pulling for people to hear today!
  7. My selected email came from IIE...
  8. Congrats to Peru and Brazil Fulbrighters!
  9. I got my packet from Fulbright and its Indonesian counterpart today. It is real! It had my name on it and everything.
  10. Eek! Does the fellowship allow you to back out once you've accepted? I'd call IIE and let them direct you to the right place. Good luck!
  11. That is very odd... my FPA was copied on my email.
  12. Haha, ya I'm sure it is principal. But it was positive for me!
  13. Yay! Ill be in Jogja doing my dissertstion work on wayang kulit. Hooray! Best of luck to you with everything! And sending good vibes to everyone still waiting. Hugs.
  14. Bluewho, Indonesia, ya? Where at? What for? So exciting!
  15. Well, It was from "Fulbright U.S. Student Program" an email at iie.org and titled "Fulbright Application Status (P)" This is the gist of the email: Congratulations! We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected for a Fulbright U.S. Student award for 2013-2014 to Indonesia. Shortly you will receive a letter from the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board with further details of the award. This letter will be sent to the mailing address listed in your application and noted above. This address will remain your corresponding address unless you notify us in writing, via email to your IIE Program Manager. In the meantime, be aware that this award is contingent upon your obtaining: medical clearance; a bachelor's degree, if graduating this year; official research clearance from the host country, where applicable; and required visas. So... time to get some visas!
  16. I am not. I try to keep my interneting to facebook, instagram, twitter, and my blog. You know... small kine stuff.
  17. So surreal! I'm in Hawaii so I just woke up to an email titled: Fulbright Application Status (P). I nearly peed my bed. And I opened it and a big Congratulations! Popped out at me. Oh the feels...
  18. I got one.... Holy cheese on a cracker. I was awarded a full research grant to Indonesia. I think I might explode.
  19. Yup. Pretty much. I think I have made progress with the hole boring. I'll let you know if I crack the code.
  20. "huh, yeah, this person sounds like he's not too weird." Haha. Love that.
  21. Wow. The number of research/study grants for Indonesia jumped from 10 to 20... I know "award numbers are projected and not yet finalized" as they say, but that is very exciting. Now what I want to know is: did they know the award number had doubled when they recommended people? So did they send 15-20? or closer to 40? I wish there was a person assigned just to me to answer all my Fulbright/IIE questions immediately. That sure would be nice.
