  1. E/VG VG/E E/VG Awarded a fellowship as a 4th year undergraduate.
  2. I feel like its as much about fit as anything else. I was accepted to UCSB Materials but rejected by UC Berkeley materials. Dont feel down if you didnt get into a program. It just probably wasnt a good fit.
  3. Mine still shows submitted for Northwestern.
  4. Looks like UC Berkeley is accepting and rejecting through their website today. Im still at status submitted. Good look to all who applied.
  5. Its all sorted out. I apologized for my poor phrasing and asked a little more directly. She responded with "The first quarter, you will be either supported by our department or your advisor. The quarter then on, you will be supported by your advisor. Our students are fully funded and employed as a GSR. Is this the information you were looking for? Please let me know if you need any further details. Best, Oura" Until I sign a paper with my stipend written down on it, I suppose this is the best information I will be getting.
  6. I sent an email saying "Hello, I received an official admission to the grad program requesting that I sign an intent to register. I was wondering if there is a timeline on when I would receive info regarding funding." and received back "The deadline is April 15th. Best, Oura" So, whatever that means.
  7. Has anyone heard from UCSB regarding funding?
  8. No info. All I received was a generic email form noreply@asu.edu linking to my.asu.com where it shows congratulations on my page there. Im an undergrad at ASU currently, so that might have something to do with it. That being said, it was very underwhelming.
  9. ASU is also sending out admissions. I received my email from them today.
  10. I sort of took a broad approach. I specifically requested to interview with Seshadri, Pollock, and Bowers. If possible, Id also like to talk to Heeger or Chabinyc as it seems they collaborate quite often. I have a thin film background, so I am trying to branch out for my PhD.
  11. Im a Physics undergrad, so I dont know too much about their timeline. I do get to see the status of my application though through the MyASU page, and it still says under review. I dont think they have passed anyone up yet. ASU has an amazing microscopy lab, so if thats your interest, I highly recommend it.
  12. I was accepted to UCSB in the first round of admissions on Jan 9th which is great, because they are my first choice. I still havent heard from UIUC, Northwestern, UC Berkeley, and ASU. It doesnt matter too much. Ill probably commit to UCSB as soon as I see a legit funding offer other than their general "Nearly 100% are covered."
