  1. Just an update--as of this year, the NSERC PGS-M program is no more and only CGS-M will be awarded (note: in the past pretty much every Masters level NSERC award has been a CGS-M except for the ones that take them to the US). Now, you apply for the CGS-M directly to the school you want to attend (much like a OGS if you have done that before) and the school itself determines who to give awards too (not NSERC). Also this means you must keep the award in Canada.

Oh, thanks for the heads up on that! I had no idea NSERC changed the PGS-M/CGS-M awards since last year. Looks like I got my NSERC PGS-M just in time then!

  2. I'm a Canadian attending grad school (PhD program) in the US. Are you in the sciences? I currently have an NSERC Postgraduate Scholarship (PGS). The application is usually due around the middle of October (October 15th this past year). The master's scholarship from NSERC (PGS-M if you're in the States) is one year of funding, so perhaps you can apply this fall for next year if you are in a science master's program that's two years long.

Unfortunately I don't know of anything that's still available for this fall.

  3. Received my letter today on the east coast... denied. Oh well, I have a good stipend from my University (worth more than the NSERC award), so I can't say I'm all that upset.

Congrats to everyone who got the award!
