  1. Hey guys Take whatever's written on the results page with a bagful of salt. The posting there is anonymous and there are always trolls out there trying to have fun at our expense. That said it would be good if all the people who have received decisions post here so others can follow up with you if they need more info. I guess that will help calm all the nerves. Update from my side: I received a mail from Beth today regarding the invite to the Aero open house on 15th March. Unfortunately though no reimbursement has been offered for the trip. And air fares at this short a notice would be prohibitive not to mention the lengthy visa process. So it looks as if I might not be able to attend the open house
  2. @jam_sister They usually dont send rejects upto 1st March as per last year and they haven't even sent out waitlists. So I guess better to just disregard the reject posts for now. Good luck to you and all the rest. @mnipenny Which other universities did you apply to for Controls and Dynamics?
  3. Hey guys My primary area of interest is aircraft control and dynamics. And the potential advisors are Prof Steve Hall and Prof Jon How, both members of the Aircraft Control Labs so that would be great for me. My brief profile is as follows: Undergrad: Top institution in India GPA: 9.82/10.0 GRE (V/Q/W): 166/169/4.0 Ranked 1st in the department Had research experience for all 4 years mostly at my home institute so I guess all the recos were strong I still havent received any funding information from either Stanford or MIT. If Stanford declines funding then the decision might become a lot easier . If not then its really tough and I will have to think it through As for the rejects I am not fully convinced. From previous years, usually wait list results go out before the rejects and thats much later in Feb (27/28). So i guess we havent heard the last of that. Good luck to all of you for your decisions. I hope you get them early whatever they are as it really helps the anxiety. Had I not got the mail yesterday the next few days would have been terrible for me
  4. Hey guys Just got my accept mail. I had applied to Masters as an initial degree and PhD as the final objective. So have put up the admit as masters in the survey. The mail was CCed to 2 of my potential advisors whom I will have to contact in near future. No commitment on funding was given. Apart from that there was a lot of info on accepting and other formalities All the very best to you guys and hope you guys get your accepts soon :-) Thanks
  5. I was informed of the interview along with the admit decision on 19th Jan (18th Jan California time). It said that I would have 2 interviews between 7th and 14th Feb and I was to respond with the convenient times by 4th Feb. The interviews finally took place on 14th Feb with Prof Pavone and next week on 19th Feb with Prof Steve Rock. The interviews themselves were pretty relaxed with them asking me about my projects and interests. They then answered a few of my questions on funding, curriculum structure and conversion to PhD studies. Hope it helps
  6. Umm Are you sure? I guess only the wait lists were posted for 28th Feb. The accepts were earlier in Feb. I believe you are talking about MIT? Any ways good luck to us all for MIT accepts :-)
  7. Did anyone go for the Stanford visit day? If yes I would like to know your impressions about the facilities/labs there. Whatever I know about the department is via the interview. Thanks
  8. Well There were 3 notifications. 3 PhDs and 1 Masters. One of the PhDs mentioned the presidential fellowship. That could hardly be POI contacting them. Still hope for the best. This however does look like an appropriate time for the results to come out (second to last week of Feb). Could you quote the email from Beth Marois if you dont mind Thanks
  9. How long do these admit cycles last? Is it a few days or most of the admits were sent out at once yesterday?
  10. Ya had two of them. But they were less like a formal interview and more like a chat on interests. I had received a notification for the interviews along with the admission mail. If you have not had them it means that you wont be offered a fellowship. As for other means of funding (TA/RA), they are not offered at the time of admission but can be obtained easily in the first quarter itself. Most of the master students there are funded from what I have heard
  11. Hey Have got admits to Stanford and Purdue. I had interviews for fellowship selection last week and will know about the results when the formal admission letter arrives. No idea about Purdue funding Although on paper Stanford is a non-thesis degree, you can take up research as a course substitute under a professor. Although not as formal as a thesis, it is required if you wish to petition for admission to PhD program. However my first choice is MIT and I am still waiting for the result. Hope it comes out soom
  12. Hi guys I got an accept mail on 18th Jan about the MS admit. Also there was a mention regarding scheduling of 2 telephonic interviews for fellowship selection process, I see that there are quite a few Stan Aero 2013 admits in the results page. Have any of you guys completed the interviews or received the dates for that? If yes could you share a bit about the format of those? Thanks
