So excited for everyone!!! As I drive through the remnants of yesterday's Chicago blizzard, I am loving noticing that it's gonna be in the 60s in Nashville this weekend, too.  Oh Nashville... so wonderful you are.

@OhLaLaSam - Thank you!  I'm still waiting to recieve the letter (which they said is coming today).  I'm excited but now it's all about financial aid and assistantships and the like.  I'm hoping to visit next month, looking forward to eating a TON (and checking out running paths of course...)
 
@Breakonthrough007 - If you haven't heard anything yet, call the admissions office.  They are super nice!  Hope it's good news for you as well!!

you should send them this as an attachment, and have the body of the email be a modified version of the rejection you received, if you got a letter/email.

It was awful/hilarious, I saw the POIs name in my inbox and I was SO confused, since I'd already been rejected, and for a split second I was like... did they change their minds or something? But I opened it and was even more confused because it was an exchange of emails about the POIs life and students, with some pretty horrifically hilarious cynical not-quite-PC opinions, and I couldn't figure out why I had gotten it. Judging from the content, I think it was supposed to be cc'ed to someone whose last name starts with the same three letters as mine, and it must have autofilled my email instead of the right persons... I don't know if I should just ignore it or let the POI know I accidentally got it????? THIS IS SO AWKWARD AND ALSO DID I MENTION MY LAST INTERACTION WITH THIS POI WAS AN EMAIL TELLING ME I WAS REJECTED BECAUSE THAT MAKES THIS MORE AWKWARD. 

I applied to the HDC program as well and had a phone interview a few weeks ago.  One of my questions during the interview was about when we would hear back - the professor told me they would make all their final decisions after Visit Day and start sending out letters this week and at the latest next week.  She also encouraged me to call the admissions office and check in about the decision if I needed to know sooner due to hearing acceptances from other places.  I'll wait til the beginning of next week before calling but it sounds like it's okay to do so.
 
Vanderbilt is my top choice so I'd like to hear back ASAP!  It's very helpful to hear the numbers of who was interviewed, keeping my fingers crossed that I made the cut.

spacezepplin, I'm of the 'older generation' and I want a freakin postal carrying owl to bring me my letter too.

So i'm about 90 percent sure I got into one of my "sort of reach" schools. I'm waiting to hear officially before I get too excited. The notifications come by mail, so i've been bouncing around talking about "how I want my letter."
 
Then I realized that this situation sounds familiar...I'm basically like the 11 year old Hogwarts students who want their owls. PLEASE LET ME INTO HOGWARTS!!
 
 
p.s: I realize that some of you may be a bit older than the Harry Potter generation...don't judge me. I still think magic is cool.

I'm to the point where I send e-mails to my personal account from my work account and back just to make sure my personal account is still functioning properly...
