So the Stanford funding... I don't completely understand. Graduate engineering, 14,650 per quarter. MS is ... four quarters? I really don't understand the US system at all. SO let's say 4 quarters later, that's basically 60k USD. Do most students have this money available, but then luckily don't have to spend it all? I am not sure I could afford to go there for the first quarter, and risk not being able to continue if I did not find funding afterwards! Unless I'm missing something, but this seems completely crazy!

Anybody have an idea when they will release the decisions? I need to accept a Canadian school pretty soon!

Hi there, I had an acceptance in January. I've also seen on some posts around here that they don't notify you of rejections by email, instead they post it to you which may take a while! I have seen people posting that they receive theirs in mid/end March or April. Not sure how true this is, just word on the street! Good luck!

Also, somebody just got waitlisted according to the Results. Interesting. I wonder if anybody from a waitlist ever gets in?

I can't take this anymore. Another long day of refreshing emails just to get a rejection in 24 hours time? Sigh... Any word from Caltech? When are they supposed to be out? When I emailed them, they said 'soon'. How long is a piece of string??

I am being optimistic! Tomorrow will be my day, I will hear something (good or bad!) Is anybody else apart from me still waiting?? Anybody waiting to hear from Caltech? I have no idea when they're supposed to be out

Sorry for the influx of posts, but I just got this: ---Thanks for your message. Our faculty are working to finalize all decisions this week, and we are on track to notify all applicants of those decisions on or by March 1, via email. Our visit day is March 15, for admitted students only. If you are admitted, more details will follow. Best, Beth Marois--- Didn't mention anything about admits being sent, or a waitlist.

Anybody see the post in the Results- it looks like somebody rang Beth and she said that it is UNTRUE that all accepts have been sent. This probably only affects me at this stage. Now I'm refreshing emails again every 5 mins!

Mnipenny- No, I don't think so. I might email them today,but when I got the offer they said nothing about funding and I have heard subsequent posters here who had their scholarship interviews. At least I have Georgia Tech with full fees and 26k a year!

Sigh. Another day of waiting ahead of me! @mnipenny, I have not heard anything more from Stanford either. Or GATech!

Nothing, but I've seen a PhD acceptance go up today!

Last year they were posted on the 28th February, followed by Caltech on 1st March. Hopefully on Thursday we'll all be delighted with our acceptances

ShortLong, I am not completely sure. I got a phonecall from Georgia Tech and they told me that they will pay my tuition expenses and I will get a living allowance of 26,000 USD (untaxed) for the duration of my Masters, and through my PhD if I decide to go down that route. They didn't mention that I would be doing any additional research or teaching, they made it quite clear that this would just be my payment for my research masters. I hope this helps!

Please post about your trip to GA Tech. I am also considering visiting in the coming month since it's my first choice so far! (MIT pending!)
