Yes, Boulder is beautiful! I will miss it as I will moving closer to DU. I don't know too much about the neighborhoods around DU. There is lots of student housing right around DU but some great neighborhoods are Baker, Capitol Hill, Washington Park, the Highlands, Park Hill, Uptown. There are so many! Of course there are good areas and the not so great ones.. just depends on what your budget is and your needs such as parking, yard, no roommates, etc. I would highly suggest trying to visit before hand and drive around Denver and DU. There is a light rail on South University and Buchtel which is a great method of transportation. Lakewood and Englewood are other cities near DU that are cheap to live in.
