  1. Got my Tulane rejection in the mail today - ouch! I was a little surprised to find a standard rejection letter in the mail without a word from my POI, since we'd communicated considerably over the past few months. Congratulations again to everyone who was accepted!
  2. I got a little anxious when I saw other people getting results, so I decided to bug my POI for an update. He said that archaeology decisions are still being made, but his references to time frame didn't get any more specific than "soon".
  3. I guess responses are literally trickling out... you'd think they'd at least have mailed out an initial round of rejections, all this waiting is the worst
  4. Thanks for letting us know what you learned - my POI warned that decisions could come as late as April, so I'm glad to hear some indication that maybe it won't take that long after all! Good luck y'all!
  5. That's exciting! Good luck with your interview/chat - if you get any additional insight into timelines or what's happening over there I hope you'll let us know!
  6. I see there's another Tulane interview posted - anyone want to claim that and let us know if you're archaeology, cultural, biological...?
  7. Alright, here's what I learned - none of this is official so it could turn out completely inaccurate. The department is starting to meet this week to discuss applicants, but I was told it would probably be another 4-6 weeks before final decisions are made. I got the impression that professors had made their "short lists" and were going to spend the next few weeks haggling over spots. I have no idea if other subfield professors have or plan to contact anyone they're interested in - I think the "interviews" are really just if a prof wants you to clarify something on your application, so not everyone will have them.
  8. I'm not sure what the equivalent scores would be since I took the GRE about 5 years ago before the new scoring system, but I didn't do that wonderfully. I didn't realize Tulane had a GRE cut off, it must be unofficial since the site doesn't say anything. I already have an MA so I doubt they paid as much attention as they would for someone straight out of undergrad.
  9. I'll definitely let y'all know if I find out any useful info!
  10. The post on the results page isn't from me, but I also got an e-mail today asking if I could talk about my application tomorrow or Monday. It was definitely sent to multiple people since it began "Dear Folks", but who knows how many. I'm Meso archaeology and it's from a Meso prof, so perhaps it was only sent to Meso applicants?
  11. I'm guessing nobody has heard anything? I'll happily take even the vaguest of rumors...
  12. I feel like it's still too early to e-mail departments about results since we seem to be in the midst of adcomm sessions right now. Looking at past years, it seems like results won't really start rolling in until the latter half of this month.
  13. I also applied to Tulane as my first choice, but my subfield is archaeology. Overall, I didn't have much success reaching faculty members - I did receive a fairly generic e-mail from a POI in mid-January saying that the department would only be accepting a few applicants across all subfields, so it was impossible to know yet how it would be broken down between archaeology, cultural, etc. I haven't heard anything since then. Of course I've been completely freaking out and checking the gradcafe results page obsessively since the application period ended! Good luck everyone, and let the rest of us know if you hear anything!
