I'm sorry to hear about some of the rejections but don't dwell too much on them, you've already got into other great programs! Also, I just switched banks today so coming to this thread was a funny coincidence! I'm still waiting to hear back from Berkeley but I got a response to my email inquiry that Berkeley should be delivering their decision "very soon!" That should be interesting... To those curious about NYU's MA programs, I've only done my undergrad there but the entire faculty (in New York and in Paris) is sublime. That said, even after the discounted tuition, I have no idea how their non-funded/non-PhD-track grad students can afford it or justify the loans. Regardless, best of luck, everyone! And to any of those visiting UCLA this week, I look forward to meeting you (my name isn't actually Kenneth-I just look a lot like Kenneth the intern from 30 Rock and I felt like preserving some anonymity)!

Just out of curiosity, has anyone contacted Berkeley about when they could expect to receive an admission decision? I was feeling particularly bold today so I called and was then prompted to send an email to the same woman who confirmed that my application materials were received in early December (she was lovely and very polite when I last corresponded with her) so I'm hoping I'll just get some type of decision date. At this point, I'd just like to hear back from everywhere regardless of acceptance or rejection so I can plan my next year out.

Yeah, I haven't heard anything either about funding and I'm somewhat worried but after a bit of investigation (friends of friends who know the UCLA situation better), it looks like it should be alright. A close friend actually chose UCLA over Berkeley because of funding opportunities. And I'm definitely visiting at the end of February and I'm hoping that's when they'll explain the financial aid package a bit better.

Wmb, Can I just ask how you found out about your Berkeley rejection? And perhaps we'll see each other at UCLA (if you're visiting at the end of the month)!

Ah! This thread is awesome! I basically was doing the exact same "stalking the gradcafé results search" for awhile. I only applied to two schools (UCLA and UC Berkeley) but I've already heard back from UCLA ("recommended for acceptance to the UCLA grad division" so I don't know how official that is...) but I'd be more than happy to go there! Now I'm just waiting to hear back from UC Berkeley and I'm not overly optimistic considering two users of the results forum already got in and I have yet to be contacted. Also, I'm fairly certain that NYU applicants should be hearing back some time after this Friday... (I go there now). Good luck, everyone!
