Hey everyone, I have a post-admission question: So my dream school admitted me this past Tuesday but they are still discussing on allocating funding for each admitted PhD student. My adviser at the program currently is out of funding but she is waiting for an NIH grant coming out at the end of April. However, the deadline to accept the offer is April 15, so the timing is really bad for me. She said if she receives the grant, she will offer me research assistantship which cover tuition fee and living stipend. But do you think I should reach out to other professors at this moment to discuss funding with them? Will my adviser be upset about it? I can't just sit and wait. Please let me know what you think. huge thanks!

I think I will end up debating between the admission from my dream program VS admission + funding from a program that I don't really want to attend. That's the reality.

Anybody having heard back from U Southern California's Health Behavior PhD admission? I saw some rejection posts here.. but no acceptance notifications?

I felt the same way. I got exactly what you got. Kind of pissed too since the application fee is not low at all. I emailed the program coordinator asking why it's MSPH and she replied something totally irrelevant: Your application to our program via SOPHAS is managed by the Mailman School of Public Health; all decision notifications are processed & sent from the Mailman School. This includes our Sociomedical Sciences PhD Program, which is interdisciplinary with study divided between the Mailman School of Public Health and one social science department in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS).

Who has news from UNC Health Behavior PhD program?? Am I the only one still waiting here? or they have made the decisions already? Please message me!! thank you!!

I got an interview with UCLA about a month ago... I thought I could get in.. but I have not heard anything from them since then... kind of losing hope now. I applied for PhD at CHS as well.

Hey Health, I got the admission from UW Health Services PhD two weeks ago. But they have this meeting probably to discuss funding for domestic students. I am an international student so they don't have any funding for me.

ha, just got a rejection letter from Harvard Social and Behavioral Sciences SD program. It says in the letter: Unfortunately, the number of applicants exceeded the number of candidates we were able to accept. ....Lol...

Hey Gael, it's funny that I also asked the academic coordinator at Hopkins and they gave me a totally different answer. She said the admission is based on a rolling basis and they have not made all decisions yet. I am confused. If that is true, why would the person you asked told you the opposite thing? By the way, I applied for HBS PhD as well. Thanks!

I just finished an interview with a professor at UIC SPH Community Health Dept. I applied for the PhD program there. The interview went very well and she mentioned the admission is based on a rolling basis. Good luck everyone!

Seems like Hopkins has made decisions already. I applied for two PhD programs.. heard nothing from them... checked website.. still nothing... very upset.
