  1. That's great. Congratulations What is your MPH major?
  2. Yes, they take about 4-8 weeks after SOPHAS mails them the application (you can check the date on which it is mailed). You may hear back by mid/late march. You can call them to confirm whether they received the application and its status. Good luck
  3. is there no one who applied/accepted to UTHSC?
  4. Thank you. Yes, Its good to have acceptances in hand. I remember how jittery I was till my first acceptance! They asked me to sign in to MyUTH. I signed in and accepted the offer. That's all. I called up office of International services, they are yet to receive my file. So, I am just waiting. Good luck with other applications.
  5. Hi everyone, I am accepted in Boston University SPH and UTHSC Houston SPH for MPH in Epi. Though I am leaning more towards UTH, but BU offer is tempting sans the tuition $$$$ . I am offered $12K scholarship from BU but still I have to shell out huge cash from my pocket and apply for loan. Am a bit confused in making final call. ! Should I go forward and accept BU as its Top University and will have more opportunities? What are the chances of TAship/GAship at BU SPH? Can anybody give an input. It will be helpful. Thank you
  6. Congratulations jen. ! I got acceptance from UTHSC houston too. Did you contact the department on further steps of enrollment?
  7. Hi everyone, I have been searching on this forum, but I see not much information/threads/posts on UTHSC school of Public health. All I see is IVY league universities and top notch grad schools being discussed most of the time. So, I am starting this thread to get to know people who applied to UTHSC, got accepted, studying at UTHSC. I applied to Houston campus for MPH in Epidemiology early in November. I am banking on UTHSC has its has research projects/studies conducted ot MD Anderson cancer center, Texas Medical Center and has tatal three medical center attached to it. And, the fees $$$ !! It has got awesome campus and located right next to rice University! It has studies conducted even at Rice university. Coming to my subject of Choice, being attached to Medical centers and Nursing schools the research and study opportunities are quite good as well. Also, its tuition way too lower compared to most of the SPH. That is a big thing for me as I am an international student with dollar exchange rates soaring sky high I don't to carry huge burden of student loans on my shoulder. I have got a thing for warm weather and I am not good with any temperature less than 10C. So, Houston it is! I would love to hear back from others. Good luck with your applications.
  8. Hi, finally nice to see few members who are talking of UTHSC. I got accepted in UTHSC Houston Campus for MPH in Epidemiology. I experience quite a few technical glitches while logging in to MyUTH. My admission status was was incomplete, though I got an email saying I was accepted. After a day, it showed that I was accepted and asked me if I wanted to accept/decline. Then I went ahead and accepted it But, whenever I log in after that, it still shows incomplete/waitlist.!! I contacted the student affairs who told me that that column will show the same until I complete new student checklist and register for classes. Nice to see you guys. Keep us updated.
  9. Applied in October '13 to all my shortlisted Uni Am an International Applicant. Fall 2014 MPH in Epidemiology International applicant Accepted: UTHSC Houston Campus, UIC, USF and BU SPH Going: UTHSC Houston Campus Rejected: UM, UNC, EMory, HSPH Waiting: USC I spent a lot money on applying to these uni, I wish I had not applied to few top-notch uni and those in the bottom of rank list. But, I didn't want to take chance. So far: UT mailed me acceptance early in December and in late December I received an email stating I am being offered "Outstanding New Student Scholarship" which makes me eligible for in-state few. Which is way too less compared to other universities to which I had applied. BU is awesome but $42k (they offered $12K scholarship) an year is not affordable for me. I see hardly anybody talking about/applying to UTHSC. Is there none I would be meeting this fall :/ )
