  1. I was in the same boat as you (I still love my credit union. They used to greet me by name and give me free coffee. ) I ended up picking ebanking from Bank of America (only banking via atm and online, no teller) because there's one down the street from my apartment and another one a block from where I work. There's a $8 monthly fee though. Sadness. I know NYU has it's own credit union for anyone affiliated with the school (student, staff, faculty, what have you). Maybe Columbia has something similar? Otherwise go with CitiBank since Chase really does get you with their fees.

There should be a option for "back with my parents because I'm broke and have too many UG student loans" Also, just wanted to add that my favorite year in undergrad was when I lived alone and my worst year was living with roommates (who were "friends" my my floor when I dormed freshmen year). Boy was that a disaster. If you want a pet, I'm a cat person myself but dogs make for more enthusiastic roommates.
