  1. From what I understand, the aid is not department-specific. I was accepted to a program already, so I can't tell you what the lack of acceptance or call means, however. I didn't get an email telling me aid info is in the mail, but I contacted admissions about the issue (deadlines are an issue for me), and they said to expect it either this week or next.
  2. What program at Oregon? I think they contacted people last week.
  3. Ooh. Nice. That's an ideal chance to indicate an interest in more aid.
  4. Do you know the timeframe on school A? For instance, are they a part of the group of schools that have deadlines on April 15? I guess it really comes down to timeframe. If they've got a week until they want decisions, the logical assumptions are different than if there's a month to go. It might be my optimism speaking, but I wouldn't just assume rejection either. I don't think I'd assume a school has rejected me until I have a letter in my mailbox saying so, or it's next September and still no news. Perhaps they do multiple waves of interviews, they're super-busy and crunched for time, or the interviews are more of a formality to meet the applicants. Who knows!
  5. I wouldn't stress too much about it right now. Patience is key. Oregon wants to hear back from the people they've accepted by April 15, so I'd expect that they might be able to move on waitlisted people closer to April. You just got notified about being waitlisted, which means they just told people of acceptances too. Some of the letters are probably still in the mail!
  6. Just checked my status on Iowa's ISIS system: I think it changed from what it was previously, and it seems to indicate that they reached a decision. I'm going to withhold my assumptions until they contact me with information though, considering how unreliable the online systems are as a source of admissions info.
  7. Here's an interesting read that I found from one of Vince Gotera's articles on grad school Applications, titled "The Grad School Letter Arrives ... Now What?", that talks about responses from grad school. It's specifically about English MFA programs, but it's pretty applicable to this as well, and a great way to get thinking positively about things. I quoted the relevant part for ease, but check out the whole essay. It's pretty useful. Also, though a bit late, check out his other essays, "How to Get Great Recommendations" and "How to Write a Great Statement of Purpose".
  8. Got accepted to Cranbrook Print Media! They want a deposit within 2 weeks though. Talk about pressure!
  9. No financial info in my letter. I filled out the FAFSA a couple weeks ago too. Hopefully we'll hear more from them in that regard before the deposit is due April 1. That'll be a deciding factor if I have to pick between programs/schools.
  10. I got a letter dated Feb. 4 regarding an interview with SAIC sculpture department. So I'm assuming those who received the email should be getting a letter as well. I also just got a letter today accepting me into the SAIC Art and Technology Studies program! I feel the ATS program is more in-line with my work than the sculpture department, so that's good. Michael, do you know anything about the ATS program? It looks fairly new, right? Now that I got in, I'm looking to confirm what I found in my research and get a solid idea of what the whole program's about. Also, I'm trying to figure out how much I should mention the ATS acceptance in my interview. I could see that playing both in my favor and against me. On one hand, it reinforces my viability, but it could also mean that the Sculpture program feels they could move me down the list, because I might be going to SAIC anyways. That's ok, but of course, I'd like to get into as many programs as possible, to keep options open. Ideas? I'm going to be visiting friends in Chicago in a couple days, and I'm going to see if I can get a tour while I'm there. So exciting!
