Has anyone heard anything from the University of Utah? I have not received any notice, but they have sent out e-mails. Does anyone know why it takes so long to send out e-mail notifications? Do they stagger the e-mails?

University of Utah is presently sending our notification e-mails, and despite my efforts to keep calm and not worry about it I am refreshing my inbox constantly. I should go for a walk.

I just found out that the University of West Georgia did not even consider my application because one of my transcripts was never received (or sent by the university????). I feel completely slapped in the face. I have been worrying so much about my admissions, and I was never even considered. What a waste of time, money, and effort.

After basically having an extended anxiety attack in February, I am calming down. Still waiting for responses, but at least the weather is nice! Spring and sunshine are helping get over the disappointment from not hearing back. Welcome Warmth!

My wife is from Utah. We lived out there for a year, so we both feel more comfortable with the University since we know the area. It is important for us to be close to family, because we have a child/children (1.5!). In hindsight I think I should have applied to more schools.

I received an e-mail from the university of West Georgia that notifications for interviews have been sent out. The e-mail said that they usually do a second round and sometimes a third round of interviews.

Some people are posting on the admissions thread that they have received e-mails for interviews to West Georgia . I am hoping that schools stagger their e-mails. Anyone know anything about it? If I didn't receive one today, does that mean that I am out for that school?

I do not interview well. I have a mentor who is going to help me do some role-play interviews to help me improve my self presentation. Does anyone know: What types of questions are asked?...any common ones? What people usually look for in SLP admissions interviews? Any advice? I don't know anything about the SLP interviews, so if you know anything, there's a good chance it is news to me. Any help is welcome and appreciated!

If your friend's transcript shows an upward trend and does well in the major classes, then there is certainly hope. The overall GPA might be rough, but if you can get a good major GPA, it really helps. Plus, the GRE can change be a big factor. If he/she can do a stellar job with the GRE, then it can change the entire application. Plus getting experience and doing things like shadowing a clinician can strengthen an application. And in any case, Never Say Die.

I called the office the other day to ask if there is a projected timeline for admissions. They said they would send out notices, by mail, at the end of/in late march. Please see the previous post about notices coming in late March.

I received an email from the University of West Georgia saying that candidates will be notified within the next two weeks if they have been chosen for an interview. I wish it was all a lot sooner and faster, but at least they gave a timeline. The school isn't my first pick, but I'll be excited to get in anywhere.
