Hi everybody, I was rejected in the three schools i applied to, for this fall MPH program. It was nice being in this forum with everyone. I learnt new things that will make my application stronger, if there will be a next time. I hope not. I just applied to a different health related program in U of S for this fall. I am already seeing a green light from a potential supervisor. Wish me luck!

Uvic sent me an email recently asking me to continue to be patient. All MPH applicants will know their status near end of May. I hope I get in, after all these months of anxious waiting!

Please does anyone knows if UVic MPH program ever sends rejection email to candidates if rejected, or they just keep silent. Am tired of waiting, i keep mailing them to know when exactly all decisions would be made, and i keep getting exactly the same response that the committee are still reviewing applications and decisions would be forthcoming. They never give me a specific date. I don't like that attitude at all. If am rejected they should go ahead and tell me that, instead of 'posting' me. Its not just fair!

Please has any international applicant heard from UVic yet?

Hello S24 Unfortunately, I haven't seen any MPH program starting in January. But there are other health related programs starting in January, such as Pharmacology. U can check out Msc Public Health at SFU, (its different from their MPH program), I think it has January entrance.

Thank you. But for January 2014, try and diversify your portfolio. Apply to at least 2 more schools, aside SFU!

you dont have to give up at this point, something good might still come out of it. Inquiry from your school asap and know when they will send it. Then reply SFU accordingly. If they wanted to reject you on that basis, they will. but now, they are not. they are interested, the ball is in your court to make this happen. talk to your school and make them send it next week. Oh really, am sure your decline will get someone in. I guess you will be going to SFU. A friend of mine got a graduate fellowship yesterday from SFU MPH program. What about you? Have you got any funding yet from SFU?

Please if u are not going to UVic, remember to decline the offer. I haven't heard from them and this wait is becoming worrisome. They said that the committee is still reviewing my application, so I guess they are waiting for people to decline before they can offer more group admission. IF YOU GOT ACCEPTED IN UVIC BUT NOT GOING TO ATTEND, PLEASE KINDLY DECLINE. Thanks.

You guys should leave class size issue. Focus on the certificate you are going to get. If you could make it through the undergraduates, then this one wont be an issue. From last years forum, someone wrote a similar thing concerning U of T. But in my opinion it doesn't matter. Class size or not, if you are determined to make it through the graduate school, u will. For crying out loud, SFU is accredited my CEPH, most schools are not.. I really wish I got an acceptance from SFU. Despite the class size, some people are still enjoying the program. Life is what you make out of it!

I sent an email to UVic admission office to find out about my admission decision, i was told that my application is still in the department who are still reviewing it. For those of you that got acceptance to UVic, did you receive your offer letter from the admission office or the department? curious!

Congrats to you. Still waiting on Uvic. I wish I would just get may acceptance tomorrow...Ur chance of working full time depends on your status. If you are an international student, you cannot work off-campus until u are 6months old in your program. After the 6 months, you may now work off-campus but you cannot work more than 20 hours in a week, until you graduate.

Congrats to you Becks on your admission to Uvic. I am still waiting on their decision. My online status still says forwarded: interim review. I dont understand the whole process at all. Looks like they dont make their decision at once. Please do you have an idea of their class size for MPH program?

Congrats to you on U of S. I applied to 3 schools too. Got rejected from UNBC and SFU (Last and Top pick respectively), still waiting on Uvic (middle pick).

Yeah, my friend submitted on the last day but was accepted last week.

seems like am the only one still waiting to hear from Uvic in this forum. I called the admission office this morning, and they said that my application is still with the department and no decision has been made yet. However, all decisions will be made in a couple of weeks. I wonder why all decisions aren't made at the same time? This wait is becoming nerve wracking. Fingers crossed on Uvic decision
