  1. Firstly, you should never lose your hope. Two years ago in the pretty much the same situation, I received a financial aid package from UT Austin in early May!, which was too late for my case. Contacting faculty members is a good idea, especially if you have insight on what you want to do, and relevant research experience which may convince a faculty member to give you an RA position. The other thing that you may want to consider is that if you somehow can afford one semester of your study, you will most probably can find a funding source after a semester or even during the first semester. Don't give up soon and good luck!
  2. Has anybody heard of Cornell recently? rejections? waitlisted?!!
  3. Hi shiraziaseel You should consider your research interests in the first place. I do not know much about the quality of OM program at USC, but ISE at USC is a descent IE program. I would say the main difference would be working on more classic IE/OR projects in ISE rather than working on more theoretical/business analytic motivated projects in business school. You may also consider that you will have much easier work down the road if you want to end up as a faculty member by going to a business school. Good luck!
  4. They have a pretty good OR program. I'd say they do more classic theoretical operations research. Dave Morton is one of the bests in stochastic programming. and Hasenbein is pretty good in stochastic networks. Their cs,business school, math, and stat departments are very good as well. You should consider that UT Austin is one of the best universities in the US overall.
  5. I contacted Cornell grad coordinator earlier this week and she said they will send out rejections and waitlist in a week or two. It seems they've made the first round of admission decisions!
  6. Does anybody know about OR program's (not IE, I think they have different admission processes and committees) decisions at Georgia Tech? I've seen some admits on the result page, but does it mean they are finished with giving admissions or what?
  7. Which school is gonna break this freaking silence! I hate it!!
  8. My dream program, above all remained and rejected and admitted!
  9. Has anybody heard of Georgia Tech's Operations Research PhD program?
  10. Received the rejection from UC Berkeley. I've never been this frustrated!
  11. Not a problem. Actually I didn't do my undergrad at OSU and I did not apply to OSU PhD program. I'm waiting for top schools as well and it's really stressful as you say. By the way, congrats on your OSU admission.
  12. I called UC Berkeley grad admin today, she said we've made our decisions. It'll take about two weeks for the results to be emailed!
