Hope you don't mind me asking, when and how did you find out? I've been talking to someone who is waiting on OSU and I know a lot of us have already gotten word, both positive and negative. He called like a lot of us also did, but they're keeping him dangling and saying sometime this week. I'm his official Gradcafe correspondent because he thinks being here will make him even more paranoid On another note, is anyone still waiting on Georgetown? They are the last school I'm waiting on and it's killing me.

HAHAHAHA this would be the point at which I'd instruct you to go down to the store and get yourself a six-pack. Last year, immediately after reading a bad-news-bears e-mail from a school, my laptop froze and died. Turns out my video card was shot, but for the longest time, I swore the bastards sent me a virus just to really drive the point home and crush my spirits.

I'm applying to PhD programs in History, specifically Ottoman/Middle Eastern/Balkans. I only applied to three programs: UT Austin, Georgetown and Ohio State. I just got the rejection (or obtained it myself on the app website, which is worse, I think) today from UT Austin and am still waiting on Ohio State and Georgetown. I've had some promising conversations with OSU, but nothing certain... I know it's late in the game, but has anyone heard from those two?

I applied to the OSU History Grad School PhD program and am still waiting to hear from them. When I visit the "Applicant Center," it says the status is "Evaluation" and expands to say, "Your application is currently in the process of being evaluated and prepared for an academic decision." Seeing as it is a bit late in the game (I think), is it fair to assume that I'm probably going to be dumped?

I have yet to hear from Ohio State (History) and their website says that the app is still "in evaluation." Has anyone heard anything yet? The same thing happened with UT Austin and then I got cold rejected, so I'm starting to get worried. Any news?

Hey Ian, thank you SO MUCH for posting that information, I've been going nuts trying to figure out what's going on. A friend also notified me yesterday that Croatia had already made their decisions a while ago, but that the hold-up was apparently with the State Dept. Either way, good luck to you!

Anyone heard back from Croatia yet? It seems like a lot of people are getting word today, I'm hopeful! :mrgreen:

Hey all, I was wondering whether anyone has heard from Croatia yet? I was named a finalist, and have yet to hear anything. My adviser has contacted them, but we keep hearing next week, and next...so frustrating! Also, would anyone happen to know when the DC orientation for Croatia might be? I'm assuming they group the countries geographically, so if anyone applied somewhere close to Croatia and already knows when their orientation is, please help!!! Good to know there are others suffering, I think my mailman is starting to think that I'm stalking him or something...
