So, after the heartbreak of no acceptances (though the wait list was better than outright rejection...), I'm already starting to consider the next round of applications. I'm stuck locally, so I have two options for an English PhD. Limiting, I know. I'm hoping to be able to chat with others...our own little grad cafe cohort...in preparation for next season. I know we have the advice for applicants thread, but I figured this could be a sounding board for SOP, research goals, General panic... As for me, I'm reconsidering my research goals entirely to more align with fit...and the "New" focus is just another aspect of the field that I've been interested in. So, who's with me in starting up a new sounding board?

Sadly, I have no other offers. I only applied to 2 programs (rooted to my location currently ), so it's more of just my own panic and worry of if I will have a place this fall... In that same vein....if anyone is rejecting an offer to University of Buffalo (or doesn't need their spot on the wait list...) please let them know ASAP. Thank you.

I believe they do fund everyone but international students (which I am not), so that would be good news. Ugh! I desperately want to call and ask my questions but do not want to be a giant pest. Boo. Also, thank you for the quick response!

I'm new to the whole wait list panic...but I have a potentially stupid question. The school I'm wait listed at told me that they'd send out offers (if any are available) after the 15th. As this is after the looming deadline, would funding be offered after that date? Like I said, probably a stupid question but any insight would be appreciated

New poster here... I've apparently also been waitlisted, which I am taking as a positive because it isn't an outright rejection. I didn't recurve any post or email, but spoke to the pertinent folks via phone. Now to wait until April 15th, with fingers and toes crossed. Good luck, fellow waitlisters!
