Well, it didn't take too much to get my rejection after I was told that I was waitlisted Now I have 3 offers from Binghamton, Santa Barbara and Arizona State. And although ASU is ranked worst among them, due to the strong faculty in my field I will go for ASU, and reject the others. This process is now over for me as well
-
Yes, unfortunately there is
-
this is the e-mail I have just got "Dear Mr. mvolkan, My apologies; you currently are on our wait list and we haven't yet received sufficient numbers of declinations to move down that list. I apologize that I do not have better news for you at this time. Best, Professor X" I don't know what to do
-
I think they pretend to be the most mysterious school ever! I have to decide by this Friday!
-
Thank you! I suppose I am waitlisted. About a month ago, I e-mailed and learnt that I was offered by the specific sub-faculty, but still waiting, and have heard nothing since then.

Is there anyone who is updated about what is going on at Ohio State?
-
Thank you all guys. I am going to ask for the details of course, but I asked immediately once I recieved the e-mail for my curiosity. Actually I am still waiting on UMass, on Ohio State as well. But on UMass website it is written "notification of denial of admission will nor appear on this web site for 21 days, thus allowing these decisions to first reach the applicant by mail.". Hence I assume it is not good news for us who haven't heard anything yet.

Guys, I have just learnt that I recieve a 3-year funding package from Santa Barbara. However, I do not know what "3-year" means, in other words what will happer after 3 years. Will I run out of money for the coming years? Could you please enlighten me about this "3-year funding package"?

They've just sent me an e-mail for a missing document. I don't know when the decisions will be made
-
I am still waiting on Mass Amherst PhD admission decisions, I haven't heard anything yet.
-
My luck changed very lateley. Second acceptance has come from SUNY Binghamton. The professor informed me unofficially about it, and if there is anyone waiting for this school, I could say that the decisions are made, and you'll hear very soon
-
Thank you both. My geographical specialization is Russia/Eurasia, and my POI at ASU is one of the leading historians in the field who worked at Columbia for many years (who was also the head of Harriman Institute), and there are also a few more very good scholars. That was the main reason for me to apply. And I think as an international student with a low bachelor gpa and gre scores it is not easy to do better. Actually I would like to return to Turkey after gaining the degree. I don't know the statistics you mentioned. Could you please post the link here? I am still waiting for 4 schools, but I only prefer Ohio State to ASU among them, that means probably I am going to the desert for the next 4/5 years

And finally DGS unofficially informed me about fundings. At last, I have an offer with funding as well. It feels so good even if it is not from a top school. And I need your comments on Arizona State guys if you have anything to say me
-
This is exactly my situation, a single acceptance from Arizona State, but still waiting for the funding decisions. It is really terrifying, and this waiting period is killing. By the way guys, do you have any idea about ASU? As I see, not too many people applied there from the forum, and as I was told they only admitted 5 students (the small number is a hope for funding). For sure I know it is not a top school, bu there are really good and famous professors in my field there, and I am a bit surprised to see that none of you applied to ASU.

Didn't you see the program names "History of Fish, Wildlife and Grizzly Bears", "History of Hot Spring Usage" There are at least 8-9 troll posts today
-
No, I didn't get an interview. Actually I am even not sure if my application is under consideration, because they e-mailed me that they do not accept the version of my master transcript which is the official one sent by the university for some weird reason. They demanded me a new copy which is suitable for "their standards" and I din't answer since their reason was so absurd. My impression about this university is not so good as you could guess, it is the only one out of 10 schools I applied which do not accept an official standard version of a transcript officially sent directly by the university
-
Still waiting for 4 universities: Ohio State, Mass. Amherst, Santa Barbara, SUNY Binghamton. And also waiting for the decisions on fundings for Arizona State.
-
Virginia has changed my status at last, and not a surprise, rejection
-
Congrats! I still haven't heard anything, and there is no change for may application status yet as well. Does it mean that all admitted and waitlisted ones are decided? These universities even don't bother to sent me rejections
-
Thanks for the information, then it means there is stil hope I think
-
Thanks for your message and congrats! It is a great program, I would love to pursue a phd there. However, unfortunately those "soon"s never come
-
There've appeared 4 OSU rejections in the last two days, all of them is written to be via website. Yet in my status it is written that my application is still "in review". Anyone knows more about OSU admissions???

This is the ranking list I use. I am not sure but I think it is the most reliable one. And according to it, Rochester's ranking is 64 together with SUNY Binghamton, Temple, George Mason, Mass. Amherst, USC and Delaware. http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-humanities-schools/history-rankings

No change for my status as well
-
I am also waiting on Virginia, but there appeared at least 3-4 acceptances in in February, so I am not very hopeful about it
