  1. Hi, I got accepted to Upenn and NYU as well (in addition to Columbia and BU). I think all programs are strong, but you need to think about factors including the specific program/focus and location. Where could you see yourself living most after you graduate? It often helps to attend a school where you may want to live afterwards. Also, NYU is strongly clinical so if you want to do clinical that could be a good option. However, if you are unsure you may want to consider Upenn or BC. BC has a focus on global issues I remember from when I visited. The campus itself is in the suburb though. I thought UPenn has a beautiful campus and the faculty seemed very nice but I have heard some issues concerning the field placement office and such. Ultimately my first choice was Columbia as I decided I really want to be in a city, specifically NYC more than the other locations; and I feel Columbia has a more flexible, rich curriculum in terms of course offerings and activities on campus. Best of luck to you!
  2. I heard back from Columbia last night and plan to attend in the fall! What about you?
  3. Got into Columbia! Anyone else accepted and plan to attend Columbia in the fall?
  4. Yeah I liked BU a lot too when I visited. What did you think of Penn? I was accepted there as well.
  5. Congrats! When did you hear back from Columbia? Columbia is my #1 choice but I thought they weren't sending out admission decisions until the first week of March
  6. Nope, not yet! Anxiously waiting to hear back...My application was complete and sent for review on January 24th so I probably won't here for another week or so.. Is that one of your first choices as well?
  7. Thank you for the feedback! Yes I have heard that NYU is is heavily clinical, which is what I intend to concentrate in as well. I would like to be exposed to perhaps the macro side as well... so that is why I think Columbia might be my #1 choice at the moment as it has a more broad curriculum. But NYU looks very nice as well! And yes I have been to Washington Park, very pretty
  8. I actually had the same experience last week, sherms31! Not sure why the receptionist told me I could get a one week extension but when I emailed they said they would not grant any extension. Yes, we could put down a deposit but that is kinda expensive. I probably will end up declining BU's offer.
  9. Hey guys- I have been accepted to the MSW programs at NYU, BU, and UPenn so far. I am anxiously waiting to hear back from Columbia soon. I have had the chance to visit and attend an info session/speak with current students at UPenn, Columbia, and BU but haven't done as much research on NYU. Does anyone have any insight on the NYU program? The admission at NYU has not really responded to me, and I was curious to speak to a current student who goes there about the experience. Right now my first choice would be Columbia but unfortunately I don't think I will hear back from Columbia until early March yet NYU and BU is asking me to make a decision/put down a security deposit by the end of this month so not sure what to do! I wonder if schools will grant extensions? Ideally I'd like to hear back from Columbia before I let the other schools know my decision.
  10. I applied to BU, NYU, University of Pennsylvania, and Columbia. So far, I have been accepted to BU, NYU, and University of Pennsylvania...and waiting on Columbia (which is my first choice).
