  1. I have noticed that professors and doctoral students tend to be one of the few remaining men on the planet who sport significant amounts of facial hair. I am thinking of throwing away the blade and letting it grow out phd student style lol! Please share your thoughts on grad school students and the facial hair trend; especially those who plan to grow it out, please feel free to share your reasons for wanting to. I want to grow it as a symbol of joining an order-- the order of phd students!
  2. Hi, I have gotten the visa approved. The process is pretty straight forward especially if you are from a visa waiver country. Even if you do not have property in your country like me or significant wealth here, it should not be a problem as long as you at least have family here. My entire immediate family is in my country and I think that is good enough as I just started employment a while back and cant possibly own a property or have much wealth. I personally feel the US embassy officers are very practical people and as long as you are not dodgy/shady and got all your papers intact and funding is all good with paperwork meticulously done, you should be getting your visa. However I am not sure for countries that have many people violating US immigration laws; it could be stricter there. I can only speak for visa waiver countries as I am from one. Best wishes to everyone.
