  1. I know this is a terribly broad question, but does anyone know how their waitlist works generally? Do they generally have a pretty long list and do those accepted off the waitlist have less funding than those accepted outright? They sent me an email last week informing me that I am a "finalist for admission" which I take to mean "you're on our waitlist," so I've been curious. Thanks for any help!
  2. I, too, received an email telling me that I'm a finalist and I also took it to be a thinly veiled way of saying I'm on the waitlist. I would rather they be upfront about it, though. I want to attend the open house but I don't know if it would be worth it considering how expensive it would be for me. Especially if I'm ultimately rejected.
  3. I hope to attend the visiting day as well. One of my interests is also queer studies! I'm primarily, however, a Victorianist.
  4. No thanks, I'll just wait a little longer for an email. Like I said, I got a phone call from Dr. Chadwick Allen, the director of grad studies, on Friday informing me that I was awarded a five-year assistantship so I already know I'm funded; I was just wondering if I hadn't received the email because of some fluke. Congrats on your acceptance, by the way!! Are you going to the visiting day? And what are you studying?
  5. Hello everyone, quick question. Has anyone received the funding email that was supposed to be sent on the 18th? I received a phone call this past Friday offering me a spot and a teaching assistantship, but I haven't yet received an email. My status online has finally been updated, though. Just wondering what the delay was. Congratulations to all others accepted!
