  6. Thank you everyone for the postive vibes! I have a feeling I may be rejected - I just realized that since this application was due last semester my GPA was a smidge lower (3.62) therefore I probably didn't make a cut! Oh goodness - we will see! Good luck to those on the wait list!!

  8. Congratulations SpeechyKelly!! That is awesome! Oh gosh :/ well here goes my obsessive checking and staring at my email and the website....
  9. Congratulations everyone who is getting in!!! I have not received any emails or notifications (checked website too) ah! I always ask this but were the emails personalized like with your name etc? I always find this helps me determine if they sent out one giant email or they are going one by one! Also congrats to those on the waitlist that is awesome!
  10. Good luck everyone!!! Hopefully we hear news today!
  11. I second that speechykelly! At least they are really considering each application and perhaps they are also distracted by the NCAA basketball happening there too haha! I think when people say March Madness, they are in fact talking about this grad app process....
  12. Ten...sion Hahah okay can we all blame this craziness on our anxiety waiting to hear from Texas? Because I sure am!!
  13. OHH MY GOSH! They can't possibly wait until Monday *cries*
  14. I hope they let us know today! Good Luck everyone!! While we are waiting, are any of you UT undergrads? I've been to the university before and have done my research on the program. However, if someone could give me a students perspective of the program that would be so helpful! Specifically Im curious about the atmosphere of the program (welcoming, approachable, etc) and your overall experience with professors, coursework, and opportunities given! ...now back to refreshing my email...
  15. I'm dying to know! I spent 10 years of my childhood in Texas and would be thrilled to be a longhorn! I'm thinking they are going to wait until Friday just because they can Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone!
  16. I was one of the people who just posted a wait-list! I just checked the website - there was no email. It was at the bottom right when you log in to apply yourself (don't click 'view application') I kept doing that. Its just on the bottom of the first page you see when you log in. I will most likely take my name off the wait-list because I'm leaning toward University of Illinois right now! Good luck to all of you!! I hope they let you know soon!
  17. I have been put on Iowa's Wait-list but I currently am an undergrad in the program here in good ol' Iowa city! It's been a nice experience here. Iowa City is a small urban city in the eastern portion of Iowa. It has a vibrant city life with a cute downtown with a lot of boutiques and resturants. It has a lively night life with many bars in the area which is usually filled with undergraduates. There is easy free transportation around campus which is nice and the campus is small enough where you can walk around to everything. However one thing I will say about that is the Speech Path building is on the opposite side of campus than the downtown and main hub of campus. If you decide to go here I would suggest living on the "west" side near the hospital/football/medical school because it will be much easier to get to class everyday! The one draw back I have about the campus is it is far away from large airports which has been a downside for me traveling to friends or family around the country. The professors are very intelligent (obviously) but they definitely have a lot of passion about what they do. The program is research driven and therefore sometimes professors focus more of their energy into that then teaching. BUT, that is not to say they aren't friendly because they definitely are! They just may be away a lot for conferences or speaking events. It is cool to read about studies and read textbooks that were written by the professor speaking in front of you and I feel that is one of the unique perks of Iowa!
  18. Okay thank you for the details! Aw man all the assistantships were taken?? So sad
  19. Hey msw0603! I am not sure you'll see this post and that is ok - but I see you were accepted to Auburn! Congratulations! I'm still waiting to hear back from them - was their e-mail personalized or a generic e-mail?
  20. The misspelling is good news perhaps they are hand typing this one by one!! hahah #overanalyzing Thats so awesome hope I hear soon!
  21. Aw, Congratulations toothbrush! That is so wonderful! I am still waiting to hear back from the University of Illinois! I hope that they send some sort of notification before I go visit there this weekend (open house)! Was the notification more general or specific to you? Trying to see if they are taking their time to send these out or they are doing it in waves! Either way so happy for you!
  22. Thank you very much, that is very sweet (Sorry the name is cheesy..I couldn't think of anything clever hahah) Good luck to you!
  23. I am truly thankful for all the blessings given my way that is for sure. Thank you so much, I really hope you hear back soon (they gave us a 30 day deadline to decide)! That feeling of knowing you will be going somewhere is indescribable...actually it still hasn't hit me...I genuinely wish that feeling for you all! Good luck!
  24. Hey sure! I'm that obnoxiously long post that starts with 'oh my goodness' in the results section (I kinda freaked out). GPA: 3.68 Major GPA: 3.67 GRE: 152/151/4 (verbal, quant, writing) As I said in my long note portion on the results page I completed a research honors thesis with Dr. Kirk at Iowa who was ASHAs president of research for a long time and invented the MLNT (a multi-modal speech perception test), and I was president of the Panhellenic council at Iowa (president of the governing council of the sorority community of 1500 women) along with other random facts that probably helped me out more so than my stats honestly. Good luck to you!! I hope you hear from them soon!!
