  1. Holy cow, that was an awesome visit. Love how approachable and welcoming the faculty are! Definitely leaning STRONGLY toward Berkeley now Hope you guys felt the same!
  2. I'm okay with sharing my funding information here, too. I received the Chancellor's Fellowship, another interdepartmental fellowship (received by the top four percent of admitted doctoral students at Berkeley). My funding package is virtually identical to KeelyMK's, except I'm getting $22,500 for year 5 -- assuming timely advancement to PhD candidacy.
  3. Right now I would say I'm leaning toward Berkeley -- faculty fit seems better, their fellowship package is good (though not quite as generous as Harvard's), and it's closer to home / my significant other / friends. But! I'll refrain from making any final decisions until I visit both programs.
  4. Professor Tamarkin confirmed that funding notices will go out tomorrow! *crosses fingers*
  5. And it's especially difficult for two academics to maintain a marriage :/ I had a professor whose wife, a history (? actually, maybe it was French or another language) professor, was turned down for a position at my school. After some time of long-distance marriage, he moved across the country to take a position where his wife was teaching.
  6. cougarstigers, do you mind sharing the details of your funding package? From my understanding, Berkeley's funding packages are not identical across admits... Ugh at those qualifiers. I'll be at the visit weekend! Just two and a half more weeks now!
  7. Has anybody heard back about funding? *anxious*
  8. Looks like only acceptances have been posted to the results board, though GradCafe results are the tip of the iceberg. Welp, I'm just waiting for the official rejection letter now ^^;
  9. Hullo! Yet another lurker coming out of the woodwork. A hearty congratulations to all of you on your acceptances! Anybody here going to the Berkeley Visit Weekend in mid-March? I'm terribly anxious that I will come across as a bumbling, inarticulate fool and squander any chance of making a good first impression.
