I live in Abbotsford, BC and received my letter on Wednesday. Two friends from Langley also got their letters that day.

I just was notified (in BC) that I received a SSHRC! I'm surprised that I heard this early, as I was an alternate! There's hope for all! My stats: GPA 3.97 last two years 2 RA's (managing other RAs) Several scholarships Best of luck to everyone!

I received an email from SSHRC yesterday acknowledging that they have my application. Check your junkmail!

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience as an alternate? My school was only allocated 4 SSHRCS, and 1 alternate (me). For stats purposes: 3.97 GPA, 2 RAs (including supervision of other RAs), 1 presentation, 1 publication, 6 substantial awards (including a few research awards) and a lot of volunteer work in my area of research. Any guesses as to what my chances might be? It's my understanding that I would hear in the fall if I were to be chosen, is this correct?
