I'm currently at OSU as an undergrad and am now applying to English PhD programs for fall of 2013. I just wanted to say that it's a great school. I've received a fantastic education there, the faculty in the English department are so supportive, very knowledgeable but very student-friendly. If any of you have questions about specific faculty members, I can maybe answer them. I've focused a lot on early modern and gender studies, but I've also worked with Americanists, Victorianists, Medievalists, etc. Feel free to ask if you want to! I'm so glad that someone started this post! I've been waitlisted at two schools and I have no idea how to proceed. Should I still visit the school? Is it ok to e-mail the DGS and talk about options? I, for some reason, feel very awkward calling a department. I have no idea why though. I think its because I don't want to seem like a pest and then have them think worse of me. Maybe that's being stupid, I don't know. But, at this point is there nothing you can do except truly wait? Good luck to every one here by the way! We all deserve to be in somewhere!!
