  1. Well I was pretty confident that Radford would still be my decision, now I have no idea. My mom was checking out the website and it seems like I can participate in a Midwest tuition program that will save me over 30k! :o  I have no idea how I could have missed this when I applied!!!

So Omaha is actually looking very good now, which really makes me torn because I LOVED the Radford area when I visited. Omaha does not look like the greatest town and the area around the university may be a little sketchy. Of course I have not visited the area yet and will probably do so this weekend. There is also the fact that I gave Radford my official acceptance in the mail Thursday as well as mailed off my application to an apartment with a non-refundable fee  Oops.

And to think I thought this stressful process was almost over.

  2. I have also been accepted to the speech language pathology program and wondered if I bumped this up if anybody could add any information? Andybody? Please?

  3. Just throwing in my 2 cents about how absolutely emotionally draining this whole process is. Never in my life have I ever wanted to be in school so badly. Even though I know the grad school road ahead is a tough one...not being in school and feeling my life wasting away is even worse. I'm going to be 28 this summer and I was hoping to be done w/ grad school by age 30 (just my own personal timeline). Of course life isn't perfect. I was an out of field student (psych degree) so I began USF's post bacc turned 2nd BS Communication Disorders program. I completed this degree last summer. I applied to numerous grad schools since 2010 as an out of field student. This was my first application season having the actual degree. I have been rejected and waitlisted in the past. This whole waiting game is the most agonzing thing to endure ever! Not to mention the GRE is my nemesis so my stats aren't superb but I have excellent work experience and a decent GPA.  Has anyone else heard from Southern Illinois University? I was told notifications would go out starting last Monday and I have yet to hear anything.

    Applied: UNI, SIUC, ETSU, WCU

    Waitlisted: WCU (assumed)

    Rejected: UNI

I haven't heard anything either. People received an email of acceptance last week, but I haven't heard anything about wait lists or rejections yet, so who knows where they are at in the process.

  4. Tay1991, do you know if your waitlist was ranked or not? Also, how long did it take from your waitlist notification to your acceptance?

To the person that asked how long I have, the e-mail actually did not say but I assume it is until April 15th.

I have no idea if the wait list was ranked or not. I first heard from them in the middle of February and was notified that the accepted students had until April 15th to decide, so they must be pulling off the list early.

  5. Sleep on it!  It never hurts to take a day or two, it's a big decision.  I know the feeling though - I keep going back and forth.........

Thanks I will! After calming down and thinking about this I still think Radford is the best because of its location, tuition and cost of living, but I still will sleep on this and not make a final decision until at least tomorrow.

  6. Congratulations!!! I am so happy for you.

Is it possible to revoke your acceptance to Radford, if you decide Omaha is better for you?

I'm sure they won't mind since it is before the April 15th deadline, however after initially freaking out about this, after looking at Omaha's program again I don't think it will be that great a fit for me. Radford seems better, so I will more than likely decline Omaha's offer. But I will sit on this for a few more hours.

  7. I'm applying to Michigan schools (all of them) and Governors State U in Illinois and have been accepted at Southern Illinois University - Carbondale! :) Waiting to hear from all of my MI schools, though. I'd like to stay in-state, but definitely am excited about SIU-C!!!!!

Do you mind telling me how you were notified that you were accepted at SIU-C? I still have not heard anything from them and while it would not affect my decision to go to Radford, I would still like to know where I stand with them. Thanks!

  8. Has anyone heard anything from Western Carolina since Thursday's email? I know a few people talked about emailing them, and relaying the response here.
I have not heard anything from them. Personally I think their admission process is stupid because from my understanding if we have not heard anything we are still in the running but will not be officially "wait listed" until April 15...after the deadline. I just don't get it. I am also just frustrated in general with the schools I am wait listed for not getting back with me. A few of the deadlines for 1st round applicants have passed and I still have not heard anything. If I have been rejected I think it would just be nice for the schools to let me know as common curtesy, as I did pay their application fee and all.
