  1. rejection for F1... dated May 3. VG, VG, G. Good luck errrbody!
  2. I emailed them a while ago with no response (its been 2 weeks). I'm sure the STAR staff is just as (and definitely more) upset that all their work went to waste if they did lose funding. I'm sure theyre busy figuring out what to do. Unlike the NSF, the EPA STAR staff don't have phone numbers posted so it is near impossible to get a hold of them
  3. Has anyone talked with one of the EPA STAR staff lately about this?
  4. this is kind of ridiculous - but how can I find my title for my project? I forget what I put, and it is not in any of the documents I uploaded. It was (if I recall correctly) an entry field on the application.
  5. Sounds like the EPA is usually late in replying to many people. The whole thing seems rather unorganized. "A written evaluation provided by the external peer review will be provided to each applicant with an award or declination letter. If recommended to receive a fellowship, you should be contacted no later than May 1, 2013 and should subsequently receive your official notification of award in the late summer of 2013, for the fall term. Please note that this schedule may be changed without notification due to factors that were not anticipated at the time of announcement. The earliest anticipated start date for these awards is September 1, 2013."
  6. What is this "Working Dinner: Presentation of Abstracts" ? Do we have to talk about our project plans? Thanks for all the info Pauli - I think a lot of us owe you a beer
  7. Official email came in this morning saying all NZ tentative offers were accepted this year by the Royal Society. That is a load off my shoulders. There are 15 of us going to NZ. I wonder how many students got EAPSIs this year in total.
  8. 360 bucks from San Francisco. Arrive around 330 PM in DC and leave at 920 AM. Have to teach a class at 4 in Santa Cruz
  9. Pauli - do you know how the hotel works? Shared rooms? are we just booked in a room by NSF with other fellows? thanks
  10. ditto on the email as well. For NZ participants it says "we are still waiting on official approval from our foreign counterparts," but they're sending us to DC, so that is reassuring.
  11. haha seriously. this is killing me.
  12. Great info, thanks Pauli
  13. I heard on Friday for NZ too. Anyone know how likely it is to be denied by the host country/institution after NSF's "tentative acceptance?"
