Hey everyone! So I know La Salle has been sending out results since the end of February. I have been seeing several La Salle updates on the results page, however I myself have not received any notification from them (yet). Is anyone else on the same boat? Their app process was super simple and all online - CSDCAS, so I wouldn't imagine there is anything wrong or missing from my application? I am not sure if I should give them a call to follow up. Again, if anyone else is on the same boat let me know so I know I am not alone! Thank you and good luck to all!

Choosing between a traditional and online program is ultimately a personal decision! If I had the choice, I would pick traditional, just because you have that one-on-one interaction in the classroom. You have a better opportunity to build a rapport with your professors as well as your classmates/future colleagues. Also going to class keeps you motivated. Even as an undergrad student, I had to take online classes for a few semesters and over the summers. While it is really convenient, it definitely requires a lot of self-motivation on the learner's part and that in itself is can be a major challenge. I also find that knowing and becoming acquainted with classmates can be helpful, as you can work together, bounce ideas of each other, and just be a support system for each other through the whole process. It may seem like something one can do without, but as a student who gets anxiety a lot with academics, I have found this so important during times of stress. That all being said - I understand that some of us can be in different points in our lives or have different responsibilities and priorities to take care which makes an online program more practical for their individual lifestyle. I even have a classmate who has some personal situations and is going to apply for online programs next year. So if you are up for the challenge and find that an online program is more fitting and worth it for you, then go for it! But if you find that it is not crucial, I would stick with a traditional program. Good luck! :-)

Application Anxiety Thread
bkjo21 replied to autismadvocate's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
So I haven't received results from any of the 9 schools that I've applied to so far - except two interviews. 3 other schools have already been sending out results for the past almost three weeks, and I haven't heard a word yet! I'm especially nervous because they include my top schools. Is anyone else experiencing a longer wait time for schools that have already been sending out results? Should I just assume these are rejections waiting to happen? I'm thinking about giving them a call and following up on them, but at the same time I don't want to annoy them! -
NOT EVEN ONE ACCEPTANCE YET? LETS VENT HERE!!

I have applied to 9 schools. 5 of them have been sending out results since the end of Feb. I have an interview scheduled for 2 out of the 5. However, I haven't heard a word from the other 3 - which include my top choices. I am not sure if I should call and follow up or not? The other 4 have not yet started sending out results. Just like pretty much everyone here I am super anxious, continuously refreshing my email and checking websites, and checking my mailbox! -
So I got called in for a Molloy interview today! However, I just realized they are not accredited yet...I can't believe I missed this while I was applying. I think this was the school I added to my list last minute because their criteria matched my numbers. So now I'm not even sure what to think. How did the interview process go?

For those of you who heard from La Salle - congrats! I haven't heard anything from them yet so I am a little anxious...do you mind sharing your stats? Also , do colleges have more than one round of acceptances? So just because one round already went out, there might be more acceptances going out later?

I applied to Molloy however I have not received any sort of notification or feedback from them. But I've seen posts of acceptances and interviews already, which is making me anxious. Did you call in and set up an interview or did they call you? I did mail in a paper version of my application in January, so I'm not sure if that's why it's taking more time? I'm not sure if I should call them tomorrow or not. I also applied to Adelphi, SJU, and Hofstra as well as LIU Brooklyn...no responses yet.

For those of you who heard from Molloy - congrats on your acceptances! I also applied to Molloy - I sent in a full paper app - however I have not received any notifications or feedback yet, which is making me a little anxious! Did they call you in for your interviews or did you yourself set up an appointment? I am really nervous..I think I want to call in again tomorrow to see if they got everything.

Hey everyone! So I am feeling a bit stressed at the moment! I saw that four (out of the 9) schools that I applied to have already started sending out acceptance letters and offering interviews. (According to the results forum posts.) I have not received any notifications yet! Should I be concerned just yet? Do schools continue to send out notifications throughout a span of days or is it just one day? For example are the schools that I saw still going to continue sending out notifications for acceptances and interviews? I am extremely nervous! I plan to graduate in May with a B.S. in CSD and minor in special education. I struggled as a biology major my first two years, so my GPA is right under a 3.5 at the moment. My GPA has improved greatly since switching to CSD however! I am a research assistant for two different labs and an ESL tutor for two different programs. I've participated in three shadow programs for three different SLPs in different settings (school, clinic, and early intervention). One of my science teachers during my bio years wrote a really great recommendation letter for me, and I had two of my CSD teachers write me letters as well. According to the ASHA Edfinder, my GRE scores and GPA fall within the average acceptance scores listed for the schools I applied to! I am still really anxious because who knows what this year's rounds will be like!

Hi everyone! I just recently came across this site/forum and have been reading a few posts and deciding to join. Hopefully I'll be able to receive some help and support here along with providing others (fellow students mainly) with some too! Well let me tell you about myself. I am currently a junior in undergrad pursuing a CSD major, a human development minor along with a biology minor. I actually was a Biology major my first two years and switched over to CSD last fall. With only a couple classes left to complete the bio minor, I decided why not. I plan to apply to grad school this fall. I go to a very large school, so it's really difficult to find someone who can guide or mentor me through this whole process. Therefore I have been doing a lot of research online. I was wondering if you have any suggestions as to what I should be doing now in regards to getting into grad school. My GPA is currently around 3.3 or 3.4. (My chemistry grades from the biology program were not that great). However, last semester I got all As in my CSD classes and made Dean's. And obviously I am aiming for higher grades this semester as well. I plan to contact a speech therapist over the summer to see if I can shadow her. (She said to contact her closer to the summer to see if I can get in). I am in the NSSLHA student club at my school. I also was involved in a volunteer literacy tutoring program last semester, helping ESL students. I am still signed up for that this semester, however they need to find a student for me. I feel like my resume isn't strong and I was wondering what more I could add onto there. On a side note, I do a lot of yoga during my free time and was thinking to perhaps get a certification for teaching kids yoga, because I have read on a lot of research with the link of yoga and SLP practices. I have also contacted a couple SLPs from my area who I can possibly observe or shadow over the summer and am in the process of contacting more. Any suggestions? What are fellow prospective grad students doing? And those of you in grad school or passed grad school, what did you do and what do you suggest? Any ideas would help and I would greatly appreciate it!! Thank you!!!
