  1. Fordham rejection finally arrived. Sigh.
  2. Does anyone know if the ND PhD wait list is exclusive to each area or includes all?
  3. I don't have a prediction but I'd vote Tagle if I could. I think he's in a good position to make the Church truly global. Schonborn would be my 2nd choice, though O'Malley's pretty good too.
  4. I don't recall, but it were an option, I probably would have picked email. I reckon it's too late in the day for Fordham to be sending out any emails now anyway. Maybe it's time I quit lurking and refreshing my email every 5 mins!
  5. Thanks. The wait is driving me nuts. I need a definitive answer!
  6. Sorry to hear. I still haven't heard. Are Fordham's emails coming from the GSAS? I think I'm prepared for a rejection...
  7. Thanks. I could really use some hope right now.
  8. Wow, congratulations!! I had given up on Fordham, thinking they'd probably have sent out offers already. Maybe there is still hope.
  9. No news from ND for wait lists as far as I know. I haven't heard back from Fordham - is anyone here on their wait list?
  10. I'm sorry you're having a hard time in your current program. I can't say I know what that's like but I understand the dilemma. I'm not in a program yet but hope to be in one this Fall. I only applied to 2 schools because only 2 felt like a good fit for me, and I didn't want to compromise. I haven't heard back from my 2nd choice, and am 1st on the wait list for my first. I'm pretty sure the 2 who have been offered will not refuse the spots so I'm quite devastated — been moping all week. I can't believe how hard a time I'm having getting over this and honestly fear it'd scarred me for life. My profs have recommended that I cast my net wider next year but I afraid I might settle, and am not sure I want to go through the entire wretched application process again. I'd agree that a PhD program is about a lot more than academics and rankings. If you're not satisfied with your work, you're going to be burned out before you complete the program. I wonder if it'd be worth it for you to try and transfer. If you have a relationship with a faculty member at your top choice, he/she might be able to help you. I know of people who have done that. My 2 cents worth.
