  1. Hi everyone, I got accepted into the MSc program (Global Governance and Diplomacy) at Oxford, but haven't heard anything about funding. For those of you familiar with Oxford financial assistance, do you think I have a shot at receiving a full scholarship? I am from a non-EU European country. Also, when do you think they'll let the admitted students know about financial assistance? Cheers
  2. @tokenaustralian Yes, the e-mail said clearly that we are on the alternate list for graduate assistantships, rather than "no funding available this time." I think already 3 people have said somewhere that they'll be rejecting the offer with funding, which means the space is slowly opening for the rest of us. Good luck to everyone waiting!
  3. Does your friend go as dmet on the forum? Also, mind sharing his/her subfield, Lemeard? yeah, brandnewtothis, I hope we get it...Do you know how many people are on the alternate list? Thanks..
  4. I have also been accepted to GW, but placed on the alternate list for funding. GW is my first choice, and from that perspective, I would prefer if you rejected the offer. At the same time, I am curious to know, if you don't mind sharing, what's your subfield and what particular professors you're interested in working with? GW has people like Barnett and Finnemore, who are (with Wendt, Blyth and a few other people the leading constructivist scholars). I definitely think this is a good sign, especially as I am interested in working with them on issues of global governance and international security. And also, for policy-related jobs, GW is definitely a top-tier program. By when do you think you'll decide?
  5. Anyone else waiting to hear from U Chicago?
  6. Anyone heard/waiting to hear from the Graduate Institute in Geneva for MA in IR/PS? Cheers
  7. Anyone likely to reject Northwestern's offer?
  8. Just heard from Northwestern that I am put on the alternate list, so I assume that as soon as someone rejects the offer, I should be in. This sounds like a wait-list. So, if someone is not going to Northwestern or knows about what "alternate" really means, it would be great if you could PM me.
  9. I will most likely decline BU offer, if GWU ends up offering me full funding (or, if miraculously, I get into Northwestern or U Chicago)... Those of you with GWU full funding offer who are likely to decline, PLEASE (for the sake of all of us waiting) inform us as promptly as possible...
  10. Hi guys, I've been following you with enthusiasm for the past few weeks and I figured I might as well register. Also, claiming GW and BU acceptances! In my GW e-mail (sent by the Director of Graduate Studies), they said: "In addition, we selected you as an alternate to receive a Graduate Teaching Assistantship funding package. Since the university is very reluctant to let us over-offer on fellowships, we always end up turning to our alternates, so there is a good chance we will be able to offer you funding. We won’t know for sure, though, until we’ve communicated with some of the other applicants." Does this mean I am wait-listed? Did you guys ever receive this kind of financial info? Also, Northwestern is not done with accepting. I called them and they said not all decisions have been made, so all of us waiting on Northwestern should not lose hope. Cheers and good luck to everyone
