  1. Hey. I'm going to Berlin as well. The largest problem I've encountered when searching for housing is finding an affordable furnished apartment (I can't justify spending a bunch of money on furniture that I'll only use for a little while, nor can I see myself hauling beds and sofas home from flee markets alone). I've found a few things, but I'm not about to rent something before I know where I'll be teaching. Anyway... contact me via messages (to my inbox) and I'll send you my e-mail.
  2. Perhaps I'm mistaken... but either STA only uses American Flag Carriers, or the agent we're supposed to contact will only book us American Flag Carrier flights. I think it's ridiculous as well. STA is supposed to be a cheap online agency for students, but nearly every other site (Orbitz, Expedia) has cheaper flight options because of the other airline options.
  3. Please do! A friend of mine is doing a Fulbright ETA in German right now and I lived in NRW for a year so I feel like I should be ok... but I'm still really anxious. Truthfully, I'm worried about finding housing, as it's been somewhat of a pain in the past in one respect or another. Now that I have a general idea of where I'll be a lot of my anxiety has subsided but it would be wonderful if they were able to tell us, Fulbrighters in general, the districts/city/school soon. That's announced when, again? July? In other news, I was also thrilled to see that the stipend amount was not only filled in, but filled in with the larger of the two numbers.
  4. I got my placement today and I'm going to Berlin! Super excited as it was my first choice. Where is everyone else headed? Also, has anyone else heard about the Diversity Initiative program for immigrant/international schools?
  5. I received an e-mail from Ines Horbert.
  6. Hey there! I was just wondering if anyone else on here was selected to be apart of the diversity initiative (the Fulbright Kommission selects 20 ETA's). I found out about the program about a month ago but I had no idea I was up for consideration. Anyway, just checking. I did a similar program in the past and it was amazing so I'm really excited about it.
