  1. A year or two ago they went to 5 years full funding for all admitted PhDs. They don't fund MAs.
  2. You might look into Boston University and John Thornton.
  3. When I sent my GRE scores to Berkeley they matched them to my application in less than three days. I assume that if you order the GRE scores online they will get to the university within 2-3 business days. I believe ETS delivers them electronically. If you have a week, I wouldn't worry about them getting there in time. But that's just me.
  4. Right, part of being professional is learning to navigate relationships with grumpy people who have power over you; however, my point is that being grumpy or uncommunicative makes a person less professional, and that saying it’s okay for a professor to be unprofessional because he or she is DGS is wrong.
  5. Part of being professional is being nice. If people don’t think you are an agreeable person then they probably won’t think you’re professional. Being DGS may be an under compensated service position, but everyone who goes into the history profession should know that there will be plenty of under compensated service positions throughout their career. So the position is no excuse for being disagreeable or uncommunicative. What kind of graduate experience do you want? There’s something to be said for feeling comfortable with faculty and knowing that they will be there when you have questions and/or concerns.
  6. I emailed the department yesterday and got nothing in reply. If/when I hear back I'll let you know. Like you, I'm assuming rejection, but I want some official word.
  7. What's the deal with Notre Dame? Do they just wait super long to send out rejections?
  8. Hi all. I discovered this site somewhat late in process, and I've been hovering on it ever since. I applied to Temple as well, should I assume at this point that no news is bad news?
