  1. I am graduating this year (May 2010) and getting a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics - Agricultural and Environmental Econ (at a Big 10 university). Considering my Econ and Mathematics background, I was wondering if someone can help direct me to programs that are heavy in those areas? Other topics I am interested in, (I love analysis): -Comparative Policy and Politics -International Policy, foreign policy -Analysis and evaluation -Developmental Econ It may seem that I should get an MA in Econ; however, I'm really liking the professional degree of an MPA/MPP. Please let me know if you think it would be wise to stick with Econ vs. the MPA. These are some schools I am thinking about, I am planning to start the application process for Spring 2011, or Fall 2011. George Mason UMBC North Carolina State University I have weak GPA of 3.2, my GREs are V: 550, Q: 620, & Writing: 4. I understand I'm not competitive. I have to try the GRE again. Please let me know if you'd like to learn more about my situation. I'm looking forward to some feedback.
  2. Good point, Demetrios2011. I was under the impression, if it wasn't accredited it meant that the school wasn't a recognized program.
  3. Is age a factor when applying to MPP/MPA programs? I'm graduating early from my undergraduate studies. Should I go into the workforce? Or should I immediately apply for graduate school... I really need some sort of advice...I have 3 years of Ag/environmental Policy exposure and many internships completed. Goodness gracious, I'm so confused.
  4. Thanks for your response. I'll check out those links!
  5. When you are looking for a MPP/MPA program, do you have to take in consideration if the program is NASPAA reviewed? Are there other ways to see if the program is in fact accredited?
  6. I studied over 1000 and only 3 came up on the exam.
  7. Hi Everyone, Can anyone comment on Applied Economics programs?..I'm alluding to Agricultural or Environmental/Nat. Resource Economics. I have a background in Applied Econ from a big 10 university. Major: Economics (Specialization: Environmental Economics) GPA: 3.1 GRE .. not a pretty sight: W: 4.5 Q: 600 V: 450 I should probably retake it...perhaps you all can give me study tips for the Verbal part? 3 years of research experience/analysis with non profits pertaining to agricultural policy. Worked with financial dept within my university. Hold PR officer position within my University's cultural committee. So far, I am checking out these schools for a MS in Ag. Econ: (1) UIUC (2) DePaul (3) Nebraska - Lincoln (4) Purdue Do I have any chances at these schools? Please let me know if there are other schools I should consider. Thanks.
