I am very confused. I filed my original FAFSA application with estimated tax info on February 4th (the school's deadline for filing is Feb 15th). Then today I went back t0 check on my application, and it said "Not Submitted". I figured out I needed to complete the IRS Data Retrieval Tool, which I did. It now shows the processed date for my application as March 10th.
My question is this: Because I submitted my initial form before the Feb. 15th deadline, am I still okay? Or am I screwed because I just now updated the tax info? I also heard that there was a March 1 deadline to submit updated tax info by.. is that the case? Is that federally determined, or is that based on the school? Am I going to receive aid based on my February 4th filing date, or am I now at the back of the pack and basically ineligible?
