  1. Also! I forgot to mention, I think you made the right choice. So don't worry about it so much, I know you really wanted to go to waterloo but SFU was better for you. (IMO)
  2. Yeah, definitely someone is probably dying of happiness. Yeah, I just talked to Professor Gorman two days ago. Yeah of course. Let me know how SFU is! Yeah, I got the same deal. I think we were first batch of acceptances to come out.
  3. aww! I knew sfu was the better choice for you. but still would have been nice to have seen you at waterloo. I accepted my offer at waterloo. what was your funding?
  4. yes, I got accepted today as well.
  5. Hi! sorry i am replying late, I got a tad bit busy. I'm starting to think they won't accept people until april.. just because the deadline was so late. SFU VS waterloo.. that seems like a hard choice. But you can always go back to do your phd, there's no rush. Plus, you have to give up a lot of time .. into doing a phd. My feeling is that XDM will be harder to get into. They were even talking about asking people to submit a portfolio of their work........so, I think we applied at the right time. I am honestly dying to know though, I go on quest literally everyday to check :*( no news yet. I just wish they would tell me...
  6. wow, it's really great to hear you talk about this just because I share similar feelings for the program. Have you seen some of the projects they've done? Definitely interesting application of humanity theory. The work they have done in the critical media lab and co-op are definitely both attractive features of the program. The program is definitely underrated, I haven't met anybody who was applying for the program or met anybody who was aware of it. I think Rhetoric and Communication was an attractive choice as well, but I preferred XDM. It sounds like you will have a hard really decision to make. If I get into waterloo, I wouldn't hesitant at all. I just feel that Waterloo is the right place for me. I'm not really sure what I would do if I only got into Ryerson... that would be a tough choice. I might reapply to just Waterloo a second time. But hopefully.. my GPA, SOI AND LOR are good enough.
  7. So, I'm guessing you wrote two letters of interest than? Oh wow, I kinda had a similar experience with the XDM program. The moment I read about it, I knew it was the program for me! I would be severely disappointed if I didn't get in. Right now I am specializing in cultural studies at Ryerson, so it seems only natural in a sense that I would continue my education at Ryerson. Although, I have great support systems at Ryerson, I just believe that XDM is the right program for me. I am basically done with theory and want to move into actually practicing the theory that I've learned. I think you have more than enough academic experience! It sounds like you would fit right into XDM. Although, I am sure it will be difficult for you to decide between another MA or a PHD. I was told last year by the program director that they are looking to expand the XDM program so its easier to get into XDM than it was in the past. Good luck to you as well!
  8. I applied for Co-op, which has its drawbacks.. since you aren't guaranteed funding anymore. What about you? Oh yeah XDM is definitely a unique program, I couldn't find anything else like it except in the states. I also applied for CommCult at Ryerson. I had to hand in my application late because I did exchange and my marks hadn't been processed. So, I am a bit on edge. hahah... you've already done an MA degree, I'm guessing, since you've applied for your PHD? I'm sure having an MA degree already will separate you from the rest of us who applied with only an undergrad.
  9. Has anyone heard back from waterloo? MA experimental digital media
