  1. Calgary's School and Applied Child Psychology program is not accredited, and to my knowledge is not under the process of being accredited. It is not a Clinical Program, unlike OISE which is a clinical program. The Clinical Program at UofC and the School and Applied Psychology program's are not connected and under completely different departments.
  2. Just out of curiosity, if you happen to know the answer to this... they can't force any students to answer until April 15th. The CPA sets that date so that students aren't forced to accept an offer before they have heard from all schools. How is UBC enforcing an early deadline?
  3. Unfortunately, this is not the case. A lab mate of mine has received her official offer and already accepted it (Counselling Psychology). It could be POI dependent, but offers have been made in some cases
  4. Personally, I would disagree. Contacting your POI to inquire an update on your application shows them that you are still interested. Offers have been made at this point, so it's not uncommon that they will have e-mails from students regarding their status. Obviously it's up to you. You can likely judge their character based on your interview and will have a feel for how they may react to the e-mail. If the message if respectful and doesn't sound like your pushing them for an answer I think it's fine. I e-mailed my POI just to ask when offers were being made and she emailed me back within the hour explaining that she had made an offer to another student and that she would update me as soon as she heard back from the other student. Your choice!
  5. I haven't heard or read anything about interviews at OISE, I was under the impression from the website that acceptance were sent out via snail mail. However, I think you would know better than I would as I didn't attend the information session. I'm just annoyed that they take so long extending acceptance and/or interview invites and I e-mailed the graduate secretary asking about the status of my application and I receied nothing in response. I won't be attending regardless, but I know a few people in which School and Clinical at OISE is their first choice and they're just waiting around before accepting other offers!
  6. Rats! Don't give up completely, I did hear from someone else middle of March! My labmates research was very specific to the professor she was applying to so it may be prof dependent! It's crazy that OISE doesn't do interviews for clinical and counselling!!! Will keep my fingers crossed for you!
  7. I contacted my POI, I'm on the wait list as she has already made another offer to a student. I'm guessing that means first round offers have been made? Unless its POI dependent.
  8. Hear about April? On their website? Heard about offers? One of my labmates got her official acceptance in the mail last week.
  9. I received my unofficial offer two weeks ago and my official offer from the graduate secretary at U of C last week and I believe they accepted around 6 students. Will make decisions as soon as possible as the waitlist process is dreadfully painful! Good luck everyone! Anyone apply to OISE for Clinical? I know Counselling offers have been made, this is the only school I haven't heard from at all. The website says early April! Frustrating!
  10. I had offers early as well and my supervisor that I currently work for encouraged me to go, if not for the experience, for the networking. If you are at all interested in their research you could possibly want to collaborate with them later. However, if you are burnt out and don't have the time to commit, by all means respectfully decline. Tough call though!
